I heard of it. It was available (pirated copy) in Urdu bazar, but last I didn't find it there :(

Surprising since I heard that Premchand's works are available in Pak(not sure if pirated copies). Malgudi days was published in 1943 and I was under the impression that popular pre-independence literature was available in Pakistan.

Eek! I am not sure that I would include Sidney Sheldon in YA lit. Nicholas sparks and John grisham are not YA writers as well

Premchand's and other Urdu writers works are available as they are being published by Pakistani publishers since independence, whereas the case with languages other than Urdu is different

he was indian novelist....he wrote hindi novels....
a number of hindi movies are based on his novels.....
though he was a hindi novelist he used to write in urdu script..then his BIL used to rewrite them in hindi script.....:D
