Sahih al-Bukhari
Volume # 4
Hadith # 141
Narrated by: Abu Huraira (RA)
The Prophet (SAW) said, “Charity is obligatory every day on every
joint of a human being. If one helps a person in matters concerning
his riding animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage
on to it, all this will be regarded charity. A good word, and every
step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer, is
regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as
charity.”
Allaah (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala) says:
“By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give freely of that which you love, and whatever you give, Allaah knows it well”.
[The Noble Qur’an]
He (Subhaanahu wa Ta’aala) also says:
“And spend from what we have made you heir. For those of you who believe and spend, theirs is a great reward”.
[The Noble Qur’an]
The Messenger of Allaah (SAW) said:
"Allaah - may He be exalted - has said: “O Son of Aadam, spend! and I shall spend on you”.
[Narrated by al-Bukhaaree].
The Prophet (SAW) said: “Every Muslim has to give sadaqah”. The people asked: “O Prophet of Allaah, what about the one who has nothing?”
He (SAW) said: “He should work with his hand to give sadaqah”. They asked: “If he cannot find (work)?”. He (SAW) replied: “He should help the needy who asked for help”. They asked: “If he cannot do that?”, He (SAW) replied: “He should then do good deeds and shun evil, for this will be taken as sadaqah”.
[Narrated by al-Bukhaaree].
“I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving creature, but He has a grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the straight path. (The truth)”
