**A Bangladeshi court has charged six doctors with criminal negligence over the death of a top film star.**SM Aslam Talukder, 44, better known as “Manna”, found fame playing the role of angry young men and his death last year led to widespread public mourning.
He died of a heart attack at the United Hospital Limited in the capital, Dhaka, while undergoing treatment.
Judge Firoz Alam rejected the doctors’ petition to discharge the case and set 1 November for the start of the trial.
Manna acted in more than 200 films and won Bangladesh’s best actor award in 2006.
He popularity soared after he starred in films such as Ammajan.
His brother-in-law Reza Kader, who filed the case against the doctors and members of the board of directors, said the actor drove to hospital after feeling chest pains but was not given treatment for hours.
Bangladesh’s film industry produces about 100 films each year and is based in Dhaka.
