Thats really sad that they named a guy “allah” in a movie.
I’ve started wondering if that was a ditto or something, cuz naming a character Allah is dumb. it could also be “allan” since “H” is so close to “N” in the keyboard, Chill out ppl ![]()
Well white ppl r really dumb in some occasions and have used dome islamic terms aswell many times. i’m gonna give yall some examples from star trek. in an episode of star trek something, an episode was named “jihad” because in the episode some alien race was in war with another race because of some religious reasons. now here somethin’ dumb! in the movie “Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan” the name of the villian was Khan Singh

I remember a few years ago when " the siege" came out people demonstrated outside theatres. And the sad thing was the movie wasnt even against Muslim..
[/QUOTE]
ditto on the siege thing. I saw a report on CNN where people distribute literature outside theatres about what Islam was, but it was just a way to get them to know Islam. U know what... after Sep. 11, "The Siege" makes so much sense, really. The first I did that weekend was to go to blockbuster, but it was out the whole time for the next 4 weeks! amazing huh! I just felt like it was a prophecy for Sep. 11... everything in the movie is so true to what happened, or might have happened in the background. And it's definitely not against Muslims. Just like the Matrix... I'm still waiting for the sequels... and I'm not going to change if someone issue's a fatwa against ppl who go and see the movie... what's the big deal!!!

Who said i'm laughing!!!
i was laughing on that "khan Singh" thing, not abt matrix.
if it was a mistake, then why should they apoligize, it was probablly a mistke by that website, not the matrix guys.
The only reason I started this thread was to see peoples's reactions... Some of us have proven to be real impatient, jumping to vivid conclusions, whereas some of us (ppl like pakistan99) are very patient and broad minded. However, I also believe that the movie makers could have avoided this character name to save themselves from all this, which I repeat would hardly affect their box office sales.
The teaser for this movie looks awesome, and PCG might be right, it might have a lame plot, as it happens to be a sequel.
Well its the sequal to the greatest movie ever made, so it just might be impossible to top the Matrix 1.
I think it was a bad move, it will cause a huge stir when the news gets to everybody, but it won't effect the box office sails at all.

...don't spoil the excitement and anticipation ...man u know the whole concept of movie-- i am sure they will be very careful w/ the usage of ALLAH name
Did u saw Star trek nemsis?? it's good
also did u check out X-men 2-- i am also waiting for that tooo!!
Well if Allah minds his name being used, I am sure he will do the fire and brimstone routine on who ever are responsible. Anyway, I wonder if any one will sue the Matrix movie people for using Allah's name without proper permission....(should it be copyrighted by Muslims??) Just some thoughts...
It’s not right…
…that’s how I feel.
:k:
Allah can not be used as a name of a human being in any case what so ever!
denying this does not make one broad minded!
whatever .I love Matrix and gonna watch the next one ...after all its just a movie ..There are more serious issues to be worried about.
boycott bollywood and now hollywood? ughh..Thank Goodness for Lollywood's existence, can't get this movie name out of my head "Raja Pakistani"?lol

I don't know if it justifies their decision of naming some guy Allah, but if you notice all the other characters in the movie are also name from either ancient gods or goddesses, Neo, Trinity, Morpheus etc

man!! you like lollywood ??
You have serious issues my friend …
First of all, that character is no longer listed in the link provided by Spock. They must have deleted it.
I have heard that "Allah" is shown as a bad, powerful character. This is mocking the name of Allah and that's wrong.
I know that they don't respect their own religion (if they believe in any), but if we don't respect our own religion who else will.
If I remember correctly, not all 'siffaat' (names) of Allah can be named for an individual. And Allah and some other names do come in that category, as those are only for Allah.
Humans are good at justifying anything according to their desires and may derive wrong conclusions.

Yar, how did I spoil the movie? I am also a matrix fan, like ya... btw, good news, they dont have the name anymore...
And yes, Nemesis was good, but I still prefer First Contact, as it had my favourite villains, the Borg!!!
X-men2, another movie Im waiting for!! Its got Patrick Stewart, who is a great actor!
FYI
No “Allah” Character in Warner Brothers’ Picture
CAIR has received a number of e-mails from concerned Muslims who were informed that the new Warner Bros. Pictures film “Matrix Reloaded” has a character called “Allah.”
After being contacted by CAIR, Warner Bros. officials say there is not, and never has been such a character in the film, despite what is being reported on movie-related websites.
