channay ki daal ka halwa recipe by bajias cooking

Since i am in Pakistan i am suffering badly from no you tube syndrome. If any of you could watch the video and write down the recipe for me that would be really nice.

If any one can post their own tried and tested recipe for the halwa, that would be even nicer.

Re: channay ki daal ka halwa recipe by bajias cooking

its very easy, soak daal in water for some hours, then cook the daal in milk, enough that it is soft and the milk evaporates. then take that and fry in oil, put in cardamon seeds, when brown, add sugar and fry till the halva is done, sprinkle with nuts. you can press the halva flat on a tray and cut into cutes when its cold and dry.

what are the measurements of daal/milk/sugar, etc?

also, is this a recipe for halwa or mithai?

Reidi gul, I looked for her video on youtube.

1 cup daal
1 cup sugar but you can take a bit less
1/2 cup almond flakes
1/3 crushed coconut
1 cup butter
5-6 cardamons
raisin accordingly

4 cups of milk for boiling, soak for 3-4 hours in milk before boiling.

do you still want her way of making the halva, as hers is soft, mines is like barfi… here is a pic

You can use the same amount for my recipe too. What I will take from bajis is that she fries her nuts in oil before adding them.

Yes soak the daal in milk.. I do that.

I didnt know you could make burfi with chana daal. i’ve always seen softer version, like gajr halwa etc.
