Changing the spellings...

Since I have moved to UK, I have seen a lot of people who try to spell their names differently just for modernization??

Nadira- Nadhirah
Rubina- Rabina
Hira- Hyra
Seema- Cima
Ahmed- Ahmaad
Uzma- Auzma…

whats with that? :konfused:

also, please share such names you came across

Re: Changing the spellings…

lol… but it shows insecurities, NO?? Like, if they are quite sure of how old their name is and they trying to unique it with different spellings.. :hmmm:

modernization of names...we hate our own culture and heritage!

Re: Changing the spellings...

It's not like these names have any standard spelling in english...

Re: Changing the spellings...

hiding actual identity is weird. Allah Ditta looks odd to many people

Re: Changing the spellings…

I mentioned it earlier too, abbreviation is fine, but entirely changing the spelling of your name which makes you pronounce it differently is, crazy!!
