IMO problem lies in ignoring the regional languages more than the Urdu being national language. Each regional language should be promoted on the regional basis and Urdu should be kept as a National Language after all Urdu is more widely spoken in Pakistan (at least now) than other options presented (like Farsi, Arabic etc).
Assumption that Urdu is the cause of "Indianization" of Pakistan is as wrong as it can get. Afterall we still can differentiate b/w Britishers and Americans even though both speak english (British English and American English).
