Prototype, your husband seems to have very Hindu beliefs, and that’s fine, too each his own. What I would say is that if you, as the mother, disagree about the name change then you should stand up for YOUR beliefs.

Also, at the risk of sounding rude, your husband sounds like an idiot.

I didnt put it up to hear such comments for my husband ! Thanks for your input though.
