Changes in PCB

More for team management, not upper management yet.

JUST IN: PCB decide not to renew contracts of head coach Mickey Arthur, bowling coach Azhar Mahmood, batting coach Grant Flower and strength and conditioning coach Grant Luden

Inzimam has already opted out to renew as chief selector. However he said he is open for other positions so who knows he might be getting himself ready for coaching

Mickey Arthur "I am extremely disappointed and hurt. I did my wholehearted effort to lift Pakistan cricket"

PCB was too quick to advertise for the new coaches. Opportunity for GS cricket experts to apply

Misbahulhaq is the new lead for PK cricket. Though some are doubting as he is defensive. i believe he is a good cricketing brain. He emphasised on fitness and can lead from the front for fitness.
Lets hope he can do justice to his job

I think yesterday he suggested to have 1 person as head coach and chief selector. This in my opinon is conflict of interest

Meanwhile, Waqar Yunus has applied for bowling coach. And no, please nooo

IT is a real conflict of interest when Misbah as powerful voice in cricket committee asking to remove arther and than applying for the same job ???

The biggest disappointment so far is the head coach of U-19 given to Ijaz Ahmad, one of the biggest non-punished yet alleged match fixer. As well as someone with worst batting technique. I'm so done with keeping hopes anymore

Since he was in good terms with Misbah in PSL ( ISB coach ). LEts hiope these decisions even done in wrong manner help pk build up

And so as expected, Misbah who was practically running the show by himself has been announced as the head coach. He was captain mostly under the coach Waqar younus who is actully now annoucned as a bowling coach. lol. Lets see how things will play now.

I would have rather Dean Jones as the coach with Misbah in selection.

All-powerful Misbah-ul-Haq named Pakistan coach and chief selector

Misbah-ul-Haq has been handed unprecedented influence over Pakistan cricket, with the PCB confirming his appointment as coach of the national side, as well as - uniquely - chief selector. Pakistan’s most successful Test captain will also be reunited with Waqar Younis, who has been named bowling coach. Waqar was head coach twice during Misbah’s near-seven-year tenure as captain, the pair working well together in registering some of Pakistan’s finest successes in the period. Both have been given three-year contracts.

Speculation had been rife about Misbah being appointed for a while now - though both positions were advertised publicly, the PCB actively chased Misbah. He delayed applying formally for the position and the reason, ESPNcricinfo understands, is because of yet another role he is due to take up: that of the PSL side Islamabad United’s head coach. Eventually, Misbah applied hours before the deadline, was interviewed, and ended up beating Mohsin Khan and Dean Jones, who had also applied. From being a shock candidate to take the captaincy less than a decade ago, Misbah is now, arguably, the most powerful man in Pakistan cricket.

Applications were not especially abundant. Waqar was the only one who turned up for the interview after another shortlisted candidate, Mohammad Akram, withdrew at the last minute. This is Waqar’s fifth term with Pakistan in a coaching capacity, having served as bowling coach of the side in 2006-07, bowling and fielding coach briefly in 2009-10, head coach in 2010-11 and again from 2014 to 2016. The end, when it had come, wasn’t a pleasant one as he resigned three months before his contract was to end after a poor World T20. He will be replacing Azhar Mahmood, who was released alongside Mickey Arthur, the previous head coach, after the World Cup this year.

All hail powerful Misbah in PCB... One person authority. Most likely future PM as well.

So the expected happened. Let's see wat miracle they can do. I believe waqar will be better than Azhar. Azhar did nothing to improve skills of the bowlers .

We should also restore Misbah as a captain across all three formats - cricket, hockey and football.

Change is always good I hope this change good for PCB .. best of luck PCB…
