I dont mind it at all but it is very obvious that PPP is looking for sindhi centric votes. As they dont ahve any major project to use in elections , they will go for these ethnic issues to get support of voters.

Wat is the motive behind this move !!! Get popular sindhi vote ( or something else !! ) as PPP dont have any credible project so trying to do irrelevant things. What good will happen to the ppl of karachi by changing name. Most probably wastage of money
Suppose PML-N make a move in national assembly to change the name of sindh. Sure they will get it passed based on their majority but will this move be accpeted to the ppl of sindh - NO
Same way PPP should think whether majority of KHI ppl want to change the name ??
Any ways , ppl of karachi seems in a dont care condition for what ever being done. Changing name will not do further bad …

What has happened to Karachi after mardood Zia-ul-Haq, the face of Karachi has blackened. It should be changed to its original name ‘Kolachi’. Majority of Karachi do not support party who is involved in Baldiatown massacre. It is high time that politics in Karachi should be changed.

But Mombai was called Mombai by the locals but No Sindhi even calls this city as Kolachi

As I told you , what common sindhi will feel If federal govt. change the name of Sindh to bombay ( when sindh was part of bombay it was called bombay ). Logic says it is the right of the majority of sindh to decide such issue ( right forum is sindh assembly ) . Similarly changing the name of karachi should be decided by majority of ppl of karachi not by provincial govt. ( right forum is Local body of karachi ) PPP need to raise this issue at the Local body and get it approved.
BTW even the provincial govt change the name , most of the ppl of khi wont mind. They became so in-considerate to this mess of PPP-MQM.

You are right, two other prominent communities would strongly object to Mohajirpur.

since the founding Father of Pakistan is buried there name Karachi after him; which happened to also be the first Capitol of Pakistan.

I cannot understand why to change the name .What benefit it is going to give… BTW if this suggestion came from Urdu speaking community to change the name of karachi would have been a big big issue by others..

How about do put that as a question in next election and let RESIDENTS of Karachi decide what should be the name and also let me them decide if htey want to be part of Sind or province of their own. How about that fora change ?
