How many of you gals, changed ur name, add. etc etc on the passport soon after getting married? when should you change it.?
And how long does this process take..?

my wife recently changed her name on the passport. she had to apply for a new ID card first and once that card arrived, she applied for a new passport. whole process took around 4 weeks

i havent changed mine yet.. gonna do it when i renew my passport and save the hassle.. hasnt caused any issues so far..

As Daagh said, process takes 4 weeks approx.
Daagh, does the new passport contain that chip? ...that the government said they were going to introduce to combat Fraud/ID theft.

fatee still holds the Pakistani passport and there is no chip on it.
i have a british one and yes it does has that RFID chip ... they havent taken any biometric data for now, but i think in near future they will do Iris scan and finger printing and the data will be stored in that chip i guess

My wife has her name changed on her ID card and subsequently the passport right after our marriage. Changing it later on might have caused troubles with her residence visa and other documents.
