My daughter is participating in this event at her elementary school where she will have a stall for Pakistan. Please give me some ideas as to what should we have there ?
We are going to have:
Some Suji ka halwa and gulab jamun for them to taste.
A slide show on computer with some cool pictures from Paksitan.
A trifold with some interesting facts and some color picutures.
Some Pakistani dresses.
I have a couple of sheshay k kaam wali sindhi topies and ajraks.
I have contacted some friends to see if some of them have a charpoi, a gandasa, a huqqa , Peshawri chappal and oh a real Pakistani flag.
well you should have. churian, some pakistani literature, a mehndi stall, paki music [and not the crazy stuff] showcase some pakistani jewlry, artwork...etc.
Yep you are a genius. This event is in USA , in predominantly gora school. Who will understand naat there and who will explain to them what is being said.
Put on Junoon and call it sufi music. That is PR right there.
Food is a good idea. Put up slide shows of Swat.
Also of the flood so people see how much damage was done and they can still help.
Before and After pictures of the flood etc.
Don't go overboard with a lot of 'positivity' or be ready to explain why you left that paradise.
Yep I thought of that that is why I am putting photos of cafe pyala , cafe student , roadside mithai wala , some gadha gari wala using cell phone etc, in addition to photos of K-2 , some beautiful desert of tharparkar , shalamar garden , badshahi masjid etc.
try to educate people with .. hmm.. show them we have 4 provinces and choose a classic pic representing each ..
make a board with pictures & bio of our heroes throughout history.. you can create image with profile in word.. print some copies and distribute them ..
show some culture .. take some thing specific which is unique to our country.. it can be food.. some dances.. . .women dresses..
you can also show pictures & achievement of Pakistani aboard .. .and Pakistani embassies around the world.. Foreign office of Pakistan have one of the most beautiful buildings around the world.. .etc..etc
Thanks everybody for their ideas. Our stall was the most colorful and was a success. People loved the suji halwa and gulab jamun too. I had a tri-fold with lots of pictures , We had taken lots of colorful dresses of my wife and daughter and decorated the stall with all those colorful dupattas, some ajraks , khussas , sindhi topies , hand crafted sofa cushions etc etc . I had downloaded lots of video clips and slide presentation which I was running on my laptop.
