Naiklarki–it is good to be back–well as u know Khawaja Mir Dard (rahmatullah alayhi) was a Naqshbandi Sufi and wali Allah as well as a great poet and his poems are Urdu’s greatest mystical ghazals…so i was in that mood when i posted them. Iss ghazal ko sufiyaana nazr se dekho…tau maani badal jaayenge aur lutf aur ho jaayega
Ya he was a naqshbandi and he belonged to sufi creed. Yes, he was a decedant of Khwaja Baha ud din(rahmatullah alayhi) from father’s side and Hazrat Ghaus e Azam(rahmatullah alayhi)from mothers side but still i wouldn’t go as far as calling him a walli Allah:)
He was a mystic and undoubtedly the only true mystic poet of urdu language but he did write secular,not-so-very-unconventional and sensous poetry about the earthly love. Actually we can put half of his poetry under the secular catagory though the other half is far better than this secular half

kabhi khush bi kiya hei dil kisi rind e sharaabi ka
bhiRa de mohn se mohn saqi hamara aur gulaabi ka
agar aap rind-e-sharaabi se maani aik sukr mein gum aur haalaat-e-wajd o bast mein paRa aadmi lain aur issi tarah “sharaab” ko maa’arifat-e-Ilahi aur ishq-e-Ilahi se tashbeeh dein aur Saqi ko Pir-o-Murshid kay maanon mein paRhein tau yeh shair waqia’ee aik sufiyana maana ikhtiyaar kar leta hai. aur yeh maani lena zyaadah tawil bhi nahin hai kyonke hamesha se sufiyaa e karaam nay apni kayfiyaat ko aisay hii cheezon se bayaan kiya hai kinaya aur misl istimaal kar kay
