Chaloo Jee!!!

Sher, 28, appeared on the reality show “Canadian Idol” in 2008 in which he sings a comical version of Avril Lavigne’s “Complicated,” complete with dance moves that include a moonwalk. He told the judges he’s from Pakistan and likes hockey, music and acting.

Police allege the men had plans and schematics to make improvised explosive devices. Police seized 50 electronic circuit boards which they say could be used as remote-control triggers for bombs. They said one of the men was trained overseas to make explosive booby traps, but did not specify which one. Police say they moved in on the men to prevent them from sending money to terror groups in Afghanistan.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

Khurram Sher is a successful physician, talented person, happily married with 3 kids. Just like the past cases where people were falsely accused, these cases have the same characteristics. Watch how the authorities bow in shame once this is over.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

hey this guy was entertaining.. lol

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

Can you give some examples of people who have been falsely accused and released?
I am curious because I haven't heard of any in Canada.

We should be making noise and citing those cases as examples.....

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

From Avril Lavigne to IEDs, thats a quite diverse range of interests I'd say.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

In the UK we had cases where a number of students were falsely accused and later Police released them after a court case.

I do remember its happened in Australia as well , the indian gentleman was taken in by the police on charges of terrorism , it became a media furore , his visa was revoked .. and later he was deemed innocent by the court. But immigration authorities refused to let him back into Australia , but after he won another court case, his visa was reinstated .

We cant be sure of the people caught in Canada , until proper information is released in due course.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

a physician toying around with circuit schematics and PCBs?

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

Maher Arar comes to mind and another Syrian Abdullah Almaliki. Also dozen or so Pakistanis who were labeled Al-Qaeda members from the Toronto area: http://www.dawn.com/2003/12/10/top9.htm and let’s not forget the Toronto18, some were released because of “lack of evidence”.. and the whole case smells fishy anyway because Mubin Shaikh the greedy snitch is a known liar.

I also know of another case that happened in Montreal, again falsely accused, framed by a jealous fellow muslim!!! Tellin you there are so many greedy, jealous, hypocrites out there.

back to current case.. Khurram Sher(in Idol video) is Canadian born and raised, studied at mcgill med school and an active member of the community, the allegations against him are ludicrous! For some reason his volunteering in Pakistan earthquake relief effort links him to some terrorist group..!

Let’s not be those who accept the allegations, let’s wait and see. He’s innocent until proven guilty!

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

why would a wannabe terrorist be on canadian idol?? arnt they supposed to keep a very low profile or sumthin

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

I saw a few seconds of his appearence on the Canadian Idol show so I probably have this wrong but he said he's been in Canada for around 3 years?

Also, why would a well-respected physician, a decent family man go on such a show to make a fool of himself? Whats the deal with that?

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

That was all an act, he was dared by his friends to go on Idol with shalwar kameez, pakol and with heavy accent. That was for fun.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

hmmm.. boys n dares :nahi:

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

yeah well hey..!

here’s more info:

But little was real in this 2008 bit of reality television: First, the contestant wasn’t a recent immigrant – he was born and raised in Montreal, a gifted student who raced through one of Canada’s most prestigious medical schools by age 23.
Relatives also say Dr. Khurram Sher put on an exaggerated accent, shalwar kameez and oversized pakul hat as “a dare.”
It was, one cousin said, “classic Khurram.” On Thursday, Dr. Sher’s friends and extended family were in disbelief over his arrest and inclusion in an alleged terrorist plot.
Portrayed primarily as a wit and high-achiever, Dr. Sher is also an avid hockey player – his name pops up frequently on Montreal ball-hockey websites.
Nauman Abbasi of Toronto has known Dr. Sher and his family for years, and played hockey with him in Montreal at a tournament in May.
“He’s a one-man wrecking crew in terms of scoring goals,” said Mr. Abbasi, who described his friend as a satirical person and a joker, and strongly believes he is innocent.

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

On a serious note, these tv shows need to make sure people are providing authentic information when they sign up for the show... its pathetic what the tv channels do for this kinda footage... I could go on and say I'm the Queen of Pakistan and the eejits wouldn't even know Pakistan doesn't have a Queen (but seriously) ... There should be some legal action taken against them ... Calling Shak09, KP and all other GS lawyers : p

Re: Chaloo Jee!!!

Looks like he is innocent . :jhanda:
