Chakor, bird that symbolized unfufilled love, love that could not be communicated, (in poetry) has been declared the official bird of Pakistan.
One of songs that uses this symbol is Mukesh song
Chand ko kya maloom chahata hai usko chakor
woh bechara door se dekhe kare na koi shor.
The folklore is that chakor gazes at moon in night and as the moon moves, he moves the neck and keeps looking. Reminds me of love-smitten friend of mind who used to look a at a demi-moore look alike in students dining hall.

Well, I have hunted chakors on several different oaccasions in Pakistan and am planning to stay on the same course of action, although I am sure it won’t cause any turmoil in the country…
speaking of national birds..I’ld like to see what does a grilled Bald Eagle look like. I am sure NRA would love to have that as a center stage masterpiece in one of their conventions..if you ask me ;I am all up for that
French have put their flag on the fish using genetic engineering. I hope others do not pick up the idea. I dont mind people burning flags of rival countries, but not alongwith animals on which they are painted.
Now each Pakistani should have a chakor emborsed on his forehead and each governement official should have a statue of chakore on his table. A pic of Chakor should be placed on the flag of PK under then Crescent. Official Bird, total stupidity.
