is it ok to wear silver chains …as somebody told me that the chains imitate female jewelery…so its not allowed in islam?..is this true…
You mean to ask "if its ok for muslim males to wear chains made of silver?"
I have never read any prohibition for muslim males about silver. The only I have read is gold and silk. Wallah-o-Aalim.
silver is allright .... still i dun like wearin it but gold is prohibited for men.
I think she was emphasizing on chains not silver..
psb: as far as I have heard/read is that we should avoid things that reflect the opposite gender.. not quite sure on chains though.. I hope someone else give you a better descriptive answer. ![]()
p.s. This might help you.
*Wearing a chain around the neck is a characteristic of women, who do so to beautify themselves for their husbands.
Men wearing these forms of adornments or chains imitate women, which is unlawful in Islam. In this context, the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, is reported to have said, **“May Allah curse men who imitate women, and vice versa.” **
Accordingly, it is unlawful for men to wear such chains irrespective of whether they are made of gold or not.” *
