Can I brew them the night before, refrigerate them, and then heat them up the following morning at work?
Yes, I consistently seek ways to sleep an extra 5 min in the morning.

Re: Chai and Coffee
Why dont u make them the nite before and pop them in a thermos- theyll be lovely and hot by the time ur up the next morning!!!
Re: Chai and Coffee
yeah thats definitely possible ... thermos is the best way to keep it as poppies mentioned ...
Re: Chai and Coffee
Ewww! I would not reheat coffee. I have a coffee maker that can work on a timer, I just fill with coffee and water the night before and set the timer. Only cost me about £40 maybe you could invest in one, at least you could have fresh brewed coffee for your thermos.
Re: Chai and Coffee
why why why. if u really need to save 5 minutes then u can boil 1 cup water in cup in microwave in less than 1 minute. ie put tea or coffe in cup, add water and microwave for 1 minute.
or like suggested get a tea maid. electronically timed to wake you with a hot cup.
Re: Chai and Coffee
tea in thermos develop a strange taste after few hours.
this was what I used to do and it works pretty well. Just add tea leaves / patti , milk and sugar in water and leave it on stove while you get ready for your office . Believe me the tea comes out fine you don't need to brew tea separately and then add milk just put them all toghether
Re: Chai and Coffee
Oh no  I wouldn’t be fresh, and wouldn’t taste good either.

Pinkky … ideally theres nothing that beats freshly made coffee/ chai but in regards to PCG’s original question … thermo’s were actually invented to keep liquids hot and I recall old family outings where having chai in a thermos sat on a blustery beach and eating pakoras was just heaven:k:…
oh and the tea was divine:yummy:

Re: Chai and Coffee
I remember when i was unmarried and in my parents house, i used to hate having to get up again and again to make tea for guests, so i decided to make a really big pot and thought now when someone comes, i’l just reheat it, it was disgusting :nono: so to answer your question PCG :nono:
Re: Chai and Coffee
instead make tea in microwave. Tetley tea bags make excellent tea in 2-3 min.
boil 1 cup water with 2 tea bags (i do it on stove within 2 minutes)
while water is boiling I warm up milk in cup for 30-40 seconds
pour water in the cup from a bit of height making that wonderful foam at the top
making 1 cup fresh tea does not take more than 2 minutes
