Chach

Salaam,

Chach or Attock is a region in North-West Punjab, it’s where my family comes from and I want to do a bit of research on it and it’s people especially the tribes living in and around a village called Waisa and their origins.

Apparently it was (or at least our village and it’s surrounding areas) was a battlefield, we have graves all over the place and kids playing around still find the odd piece of skull or tooth here and there… Somebody told me that it was some Muslim army against some Hindus (Khatri’s) sp?] or something… I know nothing about the history of the subcontinent so could someone shed some light on these armies who they were and stuff etc.

Or if somebody could recommend some books and websites etc.

I’ll really appreciate any help, Thanks.

Allah hafiz.

Cum on... ppl someone must have some info...

I know there's some guppies on here from Attock...

K. Ali's brief history of Indo-Pak may help...but no, its political....let me see if I can remember titles of the books I read on the geography of that area. Wait.

Parents are from Chakwal  , a very militaristic region of northern Pakistan. I think Attock is pretty close by.
