Well the word Chaawaan is actually Punjabi. I myself dont know what its called in Urdu.
Anyway its used mostly for scrubbing your feet when they get covered with “MAYL KUCHAYL” (couldnt find a better word to explain).
Mothers love Chaawaans coz they just enjoy scrubbing their children to make them as CHITTA as possible.

And according to above ,when you want to degrade some person in freindly and funny style ,you use word "chawan" for that person.
