Shaan masala in chaat? yikes. Never tried that. This is how we make it at home.
Boil potatoes and chop them up in small chunks.
finely sliced red onion
canned chick peas
green pepper
lemon juice
salt
a little red pepper.
Add everything except lemon juice to a bowl. add some of the liquid from the chickpeas tooand mix well. Leave for atleast about 2 hours or so so it turns a little mushy. squeze some fresh lemon juice over it.

when u say green peppers, do u mean bell green peppers (shimla mirch) or green chilli peppers (sabz mirchi)?

chilli. Add enough liquid from the chickpeas that u can see it at the bottom. Chaat should never be dry.

I don;t use imli in the chaat but usually eat it with imli ki chutney. Use very little red pepper. We get most of our spicey taste from the green chillies. If u add enough green chillies u can even skip the red ones.

sando tumhain imli kee chatni kee recipe chahiey, aik kaam karo imli lo us main thora sa pani dalo us ka soft stuff gather ker ke pits phenk do us main thori see sugar milao thora sa salt aur lil red chillie powder, and if you like you can add ketchup and hot sauce in it. mix it well and voila ;)
