I came across this recipe a while ago and decided to give it a try. The recipe calls for boiled kabuli channe/white chhole but I substituted them with a mixture of kidney beans, white beans, and kale channe. I soaked them over night and then boiled them until tender and followed the recipe from there. I also added celery in chaat just because I had it in the fridge.
I swear it tasted and smelled just like bazaar ki chaat. You know the same chaat that is available in Pakistan. I was fasting, of course, when I prepared it, and the smell was so divine that I couldn’t wait for the Iftaar time, LOL!
We also had dahi baray that I mixed the chaat with and man, it was to die for. Can’t believe I know a recipe that is 100% healthy and sans fat and yet tastes so delicious!
wishkamar, thanks for sharing. Do you happen to have the recipe for the chaat masala thing sheu sed? she mentions the ingredients but not the quantitiy of them. I am talking abt the one that has sabut mirch, zeera, saunf etc.

Ira, I arbitrarily took about 1/2 tsp of each of those spices, dry roasted, and ground them. The spice mixture/chaat masala smelled awesome.
One more thing friends, I didn't have amchoor or whatever khatayee she used so I used Imli.
Can you pls share the recipe of chana chaat the video is not running completely... It stops in the middle. And I really want to make this chaat and serve it in a couple of hours...
