KARACHI: Police in Karachi have nominated Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) chief Mullah Fazlullah in the FIR for the bombing that killed senior police officer SP CID Chaudhry Aslam Khan and his two guards earlier this week.
The FIR was registered at the PIB Colony police station nominating both the TTP chief and spokesman Shahidullah Shahid for the alleged killing.
The banned militant organisation had accepted responsibility for killing the senior police officer, touted by some as “the bravest anti-terror cop” in the country.
Police authorities investigating the Thursday bomb attack concluded that a suicide bomber had rammed his explosives-laden pickup into the slain police officer’s bulletproof SUV when his motorcade was passing through the Lyari Expressway.
The police had earlier believed that it was a remote-controlled blast. However, the investigators found human remains at the scene of crime and a hospital examination showed that the pieces were of some unidentified person, suspected to be the suicide bomber.
Since the suspected bomber’s both hands were intact, he was identified through his fingerprints by Nadra records as 36-year-old Naeemullah, son of Rafiullah and a resident of the Pirabad area. Police said Naimullah’s father Rafiullah was the caretaker of a local madressa (Islamic seminary).
Security agencies have taken both the suspected suicide bombers father and brother under arrest.
Police said the elder brother of the alleged suicide bomber was murdered in Karachi after he returned from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, also to carry out a failed suicide bombing.
Authorities are still carrying out further investigation.

How this will help IK and N$ who are dying for talks for peace with these monsters? There seems to be a great gap between what army thinks and what these politicians think. Again N$ should come out with clear policy what he wants? This dual power struggle will make N$'s government worse than Zardari's.

Latest Developments in the investigation, as feared an insider maybe involved.
"A highly credible source in the Sindh police had said that a special team of the Military Intelligence (MI) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) were helping with the investigation.
“The FIA also collected the data of phone calls made from the Essa Nagri neighbourhood and members of Chaudhry Aslam’s team to find out the possible involvement of any TTP sympathiser in the police force,” he had added.
He had said that the attack showed that there were black sheep in the police force, who had tipped off the militants about Chaudhry Aslam’s routes.

Such Taliban supporters are everywhere. In army, in police, in our offices, ... even right here on this forum. It is because our most influential religious clerics and politicians refuse to take any stance against Taliban. After all bloodshed done by Taliban and affiliates, JI and JUI still call them shaheed shamelessly on TV. While our most influential political parties like PMLN and PTI refuse to consider war against extremism as our war.
It is these people who have created confusion in the minds of common people. It is they who work as Taliban spokesmen. And it is these people who are responsible for killings of our soldiers and police officers like Ch. Aslam.

ISLAMABAD : The spokesman for the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had a 20-minute talk with late Chaudhry Aslam, discussing his role and the threats to his life but also joked about the PML-N government handing over Karachi to the TTP.
*"What if the government which is having secret talks with us hands Karachi over to us," the TTP’s Shahidullah Shahid asked Ch Aslam in a lighter mood. In return, Ch Aslam abused the TTP and said he would bury their leaders in Karachi’s graveyards.

This conversation was revealed to The News by the spokesman from an undisclosed place. He revealed that they had acknowledged late Chaudhry Aslam’s bravery while conveying the death threat to him over the phone some time back.

The TTP spokesman added that he told Ch Aslam that they are his enemies and are planning an action against him. According to Shahidullah, Ch Aslam used abusive language against them.
The TTP spokesman even joked with Ch Aslam and said that since the government was secretly negotiating with them, what would he do if the government handed over control of Karachi to the TTP.
On this, the late police officer said: “**If that happened I would bury your (TTP) Ameer Hakimullah Mehsud and you (Shahidullah Shahid) in Mewa Shah graveyard (in Karachi).”
** The TTP spokesman said he told Ch Aslam that they respect him as he was a brave enemy and they enjoy fighting brave enemies. He said he had told Ch Aslam to get ready for their action on which Ch Aslam said he was never scared and hung up. Shahidullah Shahid lauded Shahid Hayat, the Karachi police chief, and said that he was a good officer and he is not accused of anything.
TTP network in Karachi stronger than ever before, Ch. Aslam had killed more than 60+ TTP men, one can only imagine how many more are roaming on the streets of Karachi.

They have done their part. I am talking about statement of TTP regarding continued targetting high profile officials, politicians in reference to rants by N$ and IK regarding peace talks.

KARACHI: The widow of SP CID, Chaudhry Aslam told Geo News in an exclusive interview on Monday that the bombproof vehicle which remained in her husband’s use belonged to his friend who had taken it back a few days prior to the deadly attack.
“It is the responsibility of the government to provide a bombproof vehicle,” Noureen Aslam said.
She also disclosed that the friend who had provided the bulletproof vehicle had not even come to offer condolences to the family.
According to police, Chaudhry Aslam was in a bulletproof vehicle which could not withstand the bomb attack in broad daylight in the provincial capital on January 9.
who was this so called friend? why did he take it back? and in spite of daily threats why the govt did not provide him with bomb proof car, when these so called politicians are always roaming around in bomb-proof cars… this man who was suppose to be given full security was deprived of it for suspicious reasons! some black sheep in police force and sindh govt wanted to see him dead.
also in other news, they had one more explosives laden vehicle as a back-up…? how did they get through essa nigri toll plaza? and where is that second vehicle on the loose in the city waiting to hit another target?
