those that have taken both, is the network+ certification exam easier than the ccna exam?
i know that the network+ is a lifetime certification and doesn’t need to be renewed like the ccna

Did my CCIE in 2000, Lost track since then. Certs most of the time get you an interview but not a job.

^wow i bow to you in respect :k::), isn’t that the highest most prestigious networking certification in the industry.
i already have a job since i finished my deg in the hardware/networking field just a few months back. do you already have the network+ certification too or did you go right to the ccie? is network+ easier out of all the networking certs?
for me, right now it’s baby steps in this field i love

If you are going to start somewhere I’d say pick a brand, go with Cisco and prepare for the CCNA. Its pretty well recognized and you can actually get interviews (as someone pointed out) out of it. Network+ most people haven’t even heard of and its too general in nature.

Although it’s been a while since I did the CCNP and looked into these certs, there’s little doubt that the CCNA certification is a pretty good starting point for anyone who is serious about a career in the implementation and management of networks.
That being said, I’m not totally discounting the value of Network+ certification. It is a vendor-neutral certification and it does a good job of making one aware of several standards and issues beyond the realm of Cisco’s technologies. It is also a great credential to have if you are promoting yourself as an IT generalist… and there are many jobs that require such people.
