Censorsip Policies

There seem to be a lot of cases of deletion of postings specially on politically polarized forums and topics. It seems
Indian views or retorts are generally the ones to get deleted. The policies of the site are no body’s business, but as they are stated for each forum ( which I think is unnecessary and could be done in one place for all forums and an individual’s consent taken if necessary) they ought to be applied evenhandedly. I suggest :

  1. The reason(s) for removal of the post be standardized and stated ( abusive to any person or faith, nationality, generally slanderous and , intemperate language , off topic, repetitive, lewd etc.) and applied to the part of the post or entire post and the person be informed thru a private message.

  2. It should be examined that even handedness is displayed in applying the rules both for the original posting and the response.

Some times I have seen posts from moderators that are pretty one sided, are the Umpiers too allowed to play? & show their bias?

I won't say anything on the Indian aspect of what the thread starter has mentioned. But, I would like to add that a unverisal set of rules should be introduced and taught to the mods. Of course individual styles of editing posts is a kool warming idea, but that leaves alot many people confused, like for example me. Some mods put in asterisks, others just take out a leave a warning while even others just replace parts with words like "oh no" or whatever...

If posts are edited or deleted, the original poster should be notified, either by an automated system or by the mod resposible for the editting. Lets just call this a "warning system" (of some kind).... just to make it seems important (:)).

Well I will give you examples. Go to the Kashmir forum. There are two topics on India Shelling Pak Villages and similar topics started by Indians were removed recently. Why? Either have one only by any one for that matter or none if is as routine as this shelling thing. The fact of the matter is both sides do it and both sides have lacs of home less and both sides can quote credible domestic and international sources & you can check some of the posers where the retorts by the Indian side stand deleted. I can't say what's the reason but on the face of it , it seems there was reason to respond. Let's know the reason why? And there are a few people who use expletives though with ***** . Haven't seen any Indian doing it, may be they know it serves no purpose or are just more courteous ?
