Cellphones in Germany

i want to buy a handy (cell phone) in germany. please let me know sources where i can get good deals from. i am willing to sign a contract for about 6/7 months. i am looking for a plan which offers latest sets for free with a plan

Thanxx…

Hi,
1st of all i think u won’t find any network operator or provider to offer u a 6/7 month contract … as much as i know they sue to offer contracts which r either for 3 months, 12 months or 24 months … to get m. phone for free with a 3 months contract is to my knowledge a utopy (did i spell it right??) …

there r 4 network operators in Germany
T-Mobile D1 (the most reliable network and state of the art in tech with 97% coverage)
Vodafone D2 (also 97% coverage and the pricing is almost identical to T-Mobile but not that much reliable)
E-Plus (State of the art in Tech but unfortunatly the coverage is the biggest problem with it)
O2 (uses the network of T-Mobile where it’s own offer no coverage so u’ve a combined coverage of 99% and is the cheapest in pricing)

Then there a lot of providers
Hutchison, D-Link, Telco, Victorvox, Mobilcom, Cellway, Debitel, Alphtel etc. etc.
i would suggest u to take someone from ur relatives/friends/colleagues circle (who r from germany) and surf the web and also go to markets to explore what’s the package u can get … there r wide over 100 options for a contract with a m. phone in package so it’s up to find out how ur attitide is for using a m. phone … which time of the day u use it … what u like more SMS or Call … and finally what will be ur target area of calls … once u can sort out these data for urself it’ll hopefully a lot easier to decide to go this or that …

i can give u links only in german

I hope this info is a bit helpful to u in finding the right one

actually i had my friend lend me his old handy for as long as i am going to be here. its just that its kind of old :-D so i just wanted to see if there was any way i could get a free handy but apparently there isn't..

thanxx for the info.
