Cell phones

**Are you one of those people who absolutely must have the latest mobile on the market or do you pick your cell phones according to the usability or your budget constraints.
Some people buy the latest gadgets but never use even half the features it offers…

Also how often do you change cell-phones ?

Do you buy a new one every year or keep the same one for years and years till it dies on you ?..

Re: Cell phones

I change my cellphone probably every few years? Not very often.

Re: Cell phones

change it when i have extra money.....or its about to get faulty......i am not cellphone crazy......

its funny...becoz u see people..whose salary is , lets say Rs.25,000.......and they have the Rs.40,000 cell phone.........

Re: Cell phones

I still have a very old sony Ericson brick lying around in the house. My constant companion for the last decade has been a Motoral V235 which has forever been in my pocket since 2001 and has been the sort of phone that was designed for basic use and has survived countless batterings most astonishing of all being one of the few items still working after a 4x8 room was hit by a Tank shell fired from a Merkava IV.

I have a Blackburry from work, but the Motorola is one hell of a cell phone to still be working after all these years and seeing all it has been through including complete immersion in Pakistani Monsoon... All in all I cant fault the phone it is the AK47 of Mobile phones.

Re: Cell phones

I don't spend more than £30 on cell phones but I have to change them quite often coz my kids damage/lose them.

(now don't judge me, I'm not that mum who hands over her cell phone to her kids for games and stuff, I don't have any games/music in my phone, just a small poor quality camera and they like taking pics with it)

Re: Cell phones

I change that every two years or it becomes faulty, whichever is earlier.

Re: Cell phones

This is most people with smart phones. They don't even come close to using half the features on it but hey, it's a bit of a fashion statement nowadays.

I don't have a BlackBerry but don't have data on it because cell phone plans (especially data) in Canada are the most expensive in the world.

Re: Cell phones

i will always keep mine till the day i can make and recieve calls through it (plus emails)

Re: Cell phones

For the sake of conservation and being green I am using my cell phone for last 2 years. I do not want to add a few more ounces of trash to landfill. I do not use it for any other purpose other than making and receiving calls.

Re: Cell phones

I am not fussed at all, but have a BB from work, I got hubby a Iphone4 for his birthday last year, and I am the least techno gadget crazy person in the world ( i didnt even know what iphone was, just heard its the latest thing) but I am totally addicted now........no wonder you see all those nuts queueng up all night for the latest iphone, they are excellent.....Iphone anyday

Re: Cell phones

I change phones roughly every two years, most of the time because I just want a phone that is in keeping with the times, but a few times cos my phone has become faulty and once because it was stolen.

Re: Cell phones

Don't any of you guys automatically get an upgrade after 12 months with your contract? I knock mine around so much that they just about last up to a year.

Re: Cell phones

usually get new phone every two year from telecommunication company on cheap rates. :@:

Re: Cell phones

I buy cell phone according to expected usability of features. I have never bought one just because 'its hot these days'

Re: Cell phones

guilty as charged

I have changed a phone every year in last 4 years… no points in guessing why!

Re: Cell phones

nope...i change my fone when there is a need for it or when my 2 yr contract is up...whichever is FIRST! :)

Re: Cell phones

Thankfuly i don't end up crazed over mobiles that often so i usually stick with the ones i buy for around 1.5 years. The current one i have had for around same time but i am yet to like a replacement for it.

Re: Cell phones

I change mobiles because I water damage them :halo: I’ve gone through about 5 in 2 years. And all of them due to water damage; me and phones just don’t go well together

Re: Cell phones

A new one every year or two. I like to keep up with technology. Using dumb phones these days makes me feel crippled, it must be a smart phone.

Re: Cell phones

I don't change my phones much. I had a Sony Erickson for about 4 years mainly because I loved it. I have an iPhone now. I don't think I will change this as it is probably the most complete phone in terms of my requirements. PLUS, I highly doubt anyone has the contract I have...muhahahaahaha....
