I am thinking of buying the following phone in order to be able to use it in countries listed in the subject line. Advertisement claims that it will work in all of Asia but I have no way of knowing for sure based on the stats provided. Here are some questions directly aimed at people living in Dubai (surrounding cities), Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan: Are all phones there designed around GSM technology? Because this phone also uses a SIM chip, will replacing the chip I use in USA with one in either of those country the only requirement to have the phone operating fully?

As long as it is GSM enabled and not locked to a specific provider, which is the case with this V3 RAZR, it would work here in the Middle East as well as in Pakistan.

Yes, it will work anywhere in the world. Even tri-band phones can work in Pakistan and USA and this is quad-band.
