Actually Hitchki was on topic.
well, i meant stuff that i normally wouldn't want to hear. :@:
i want the kind of advice that desibeauty, decentchora, and princess had said. the rest of the people went off topic, so i concentrated on these posts instead. (:
Have you ever read the last-half of the post? its not just about the cell phone.
You don’t get it, do you? its not just about a cell phone, if you bothered to read through some of the posts here you’d understand that. If you think she has no problems or her problems aren’t really problems, just because of her age, than you really have no idea.
GA…others have given you decent advice. Above all, just be patient
I like your post (:
lol i don't want to be a queen nor seen as a brat either to my family. i just want my own reward to boost myself up, otherwise it just seems like these grades are for nothing, really. honestly, my parents make it a habit to gift someone something even better.
i remember once my dad promised me a cell phone (it was my old one that he later gave away when i came to america). it was a motorola phone, sleek and shiny and PROMISED to give it to me only. i really wanted it too.
guess what happened? he gave it to my older cousin. he just gave me a used phone which didn't satisfy me fully because it had scratches on it and looked somewhat cheap. i was angry at him for doing that but i was like, oh well, it is better then nothing anyway >.> my mom noticed that too.
the way he gave it to her made me feel like trash. he tricked me. i was upset for days, but he never noticed. of course, he wouldn't anyway.
Did you talk to your dad about how you felt? Sometimes males are like that, they are difficult to talk to. Sometimes it just feels good to be daddy's little princess and let him know what you want, and have him run and get it for you. Sometimes parents feel that overdoing this can spoil children and they are absolutely right. But if you do not provide any sort of reward than you have no motivation. Yes, getting good grades and getting into a good college is a reward in its own, but once again, you need to have a goal, motivation, something to look forward to.
Try to talk to your mom, but do the same thing, if they say no, walk away, show them how mature you are, and ask again. Don't worry everything will work out im sure!
Re: cell phone

all those that are saying a 14 yr old shouldnt have a phone probz never have been a teenager urself or were too busy working with a job or studies or helping keep good relations with families that you were too lost in your own world to realise u needed a phone ![]()

i've tried telling him i do good in school, and i told him that a cell phone was something that movitated me.
no movitation for me just drops my grades down. it happened twice now when i was younger and it can happen again. what my dad did was only ground me........... it only made the situation worse.
Re: cell phone
Do you spend any significant amount of time outside the house during off school hours, with extra curricular activities (sports, school play, etc)? If so, you should tell your dad you need a phone, at least for some sort of emergency that may occur, and need to call him. Outside of that, maybe you can get him to have a land line in your room, so you can have privacy.
any of that crap? ![]()
do you kiss your mother with that mouth? ![]()
if you put it that way, yes i have. :]
Re: cell phone
guardian angel ... listen hun ... you're 14 you don't really need a cell phone ... u kno you want one but need is something else ... you talk about how ti will motivate you to do better and watever else ... but i'm sure you're dad is willing to buy you other stuff that can motivate you he just doesn't think that cell phone is right for you at this age and i kinda sorta agree ... i'm 24 and i got a cell phone 2 years ago when i started working and tbh with you i don't really need one ... its nice to have oen arnd but need again is not the word that i'd use for the cell phone ... so try to motivate yourself with other things rather than a cell phone ... i'm sure there are other things that you want that your dad will be more than happy to buy for you
