Salman Ahmad, founder of 'Junoon', the biggest most successful band in South Asia, to have toured the world extensively and played alongside music giants like Sting, Deff Lappard, Pearl Jam etc. He was appointed as a UN Goodwill Ambassador for HIV/AIDS to promote awareness in South Asia. He was personally invited by Bill Clinton to speak at the Clinton Global Initiative panel in New York, recently appointed as a Freemuse ambassador. He is currently teaching a course on Islamic music titled "Islamic Music and Culture of South Asia" at New York's Queens College, as a guest faculty.

Sabiha Sumar, director of "Khamosh Pani" and "Hanif Kureishi" who is half-Pakistani. I am not sure if his British movies would make Pakistanis proud.

I also want to point out that Sabiha's direction is better than even Deepa Mehta's owing to her realistic portrayal. I wish she was more prolific.

Actually Deepa is more famous owing to her incendiary antics like Salman Rushdie. Sabiha focuses on good work. Check her out on imdb.
How about Ayesha Siddiqa, a writer of Pakistani history?
