LAHORE: A suspect connected to the murder of rookie model Areeba was arrested on Monday as the mystery surrounding the killing unfolded through CCTV footage, police said.
According to SSP Ayaz Salim, Areeba’s body was found in a suitcase at a bus station in Lahore’s Johar Town on January 13. Post-mortem later confirmed that she was raped before being murdered.
The rookie model, who has been identified by her real name Abeera Iqbal, was a student at Punjab University and lived in a hostel.
Areeba reportedly went to meet suspect Tooba, whose original name has been disclosed as Uzma Rao, a day before her ruthless murder as both of the young girls shared the same passion of making a name in the modeling and fashion industry.
In the CCTV footage, Tooba can be seen along with a man dropping off the suitcase at the bus station in Johar Town.
SSP Salim said that the police have arrested Tooba while raids are being carried out in search of the other suspect.

Here's a summary of the investigation/ crime:
Girls brother reported her missing
The police showed a series of un identified bodies and he identified his sister
The police had a record of where the body was found, which was a bus station. they located CCTV which showed an un identified woman and man dragging a large suitcase in which the body was located
They interrogated folks at the hostel she resided and showed the CCTV to the hostel guard where the girl resided. He identified the woman in the video
Woman's address was somehow traced and she was brought in for questioning
She admitted to dumping the body but claimed that the girl was raped and murdered by a guy in her home while she was in the kitchen. Postmortem confirmed the rape and also death by strangulation.
Currently the man who allegedly raped and killed her is at large.
