Mahendra Singh Dhoni at the toss said: "It looks like a better wicket, it's not very sticky. The forecast is rain, so it gets a bit worrying for the batsmen, so I think we will get batting again."
One change, Yuvraj is back for Manoj Tiwary. "The way Yuvraj has performed in Australia, not only with his bat but the ball is very good." He also confirms that RP Singh has gone back home for some rest, and will miss the rest of the series.
Here's Mahela Jayawardene. "I would have preferred to bat, but it's always good to start the tournament. Looking forward to it, it looks a very good game. Hopefully there won't be too many interruptions and we can get a decent game."
And on Ishara Amerasinghe: "He's got some pace in him. He's been around a while and has been bowling well in the last six months in our domestic cricket so we thought it would be a good chance for him, especially as we don't have Dilhara [Fernando]."

6.6 Vaas to Sehwag, FOUR, another edge, the batsman squaring up to that one and Muralitharan's left with egg on his face as he tries to tidy that one up with his feet on the boundar

Dhoni has the wrong idea of introducing new blood without keeping a balance. New players should get a fair chance...this may shatter conidence of many and some may not even get a chance again.

i think the selectors wanted to use this tri series to test the bench strength, similiar to what pakistan recently did with zimbabwe series

its a very young team - Dhoni makes sense when he says when 2011 comes India should have a pool of players with 80 ODIs exp..
theek hai - thode failures hote hai - as I said before - no need to take hasty decisions on these failures.

good time for dhoni to hit some form, had a pretty ordinary tour so far
i hope gambhir gets century, he is 92 and 1.3 overs left but he is not on strike
edit - 1 over left and he doesnt have strike !!!! damn
edit 2 - 5 balls left and they take a single, 8 runs off 5 balls for century
edit 3 - 4 balls left, 4 runs needed for century!!!
