No doubt…I felt uncomfortable just watching how she was responding…With a fashionable lady like herself, my only verdict is weak or lack of belief…You need to believe in something to defend it intelligently and strongly otherwise you end up looking like her…
However, isn’t this even worse when such hatred and stereotyping Muslims as terrorists is being shown on public television?

the school is perfectly in the right to teach what its teaching. it is being mischaracterized, and being defended very ineptly by the woman, who obviously doesnt have any idea why its out of context and was offering the official platitudes.

Why is Islaam being singled out? Which religion doesn’t believe it is the only true path to salvation from hellfire and that all other religions are useless?
I went to a Church of England primary school and my teacher in YEAR 6 said on more than one occasion to us Asians that everyone except for Christians and Jews will go to Hell. All mainstream Christians believe that anyone who does not accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour has rejected his sacrifice and will go to Hell Fire including Muslims. Similarly Jews too believe that the only way for people to attain salvation is by adhering to the Torah if you’re a Jew or the Noachide Laws if you’re a Gentile and anyone who doesn’t do so is a Poshea-Yisrael, Momer, Kofer (rejecter, same as the Arabic: Kafir) and has no room in Olamhaba (Afterlife) and is doomed. These views are not extinct Judeo-Christian teachings, they are still taught and applied today…
Nobody raises a finger at the Jews when they say and believe unpalatable things because it’s Anti-Semitism (Arabs are also Semites you know) even though Jewish religion teaches that non-Jews (including White Christians) are by nature inferior than Jews and were created as second class citizens to serve the spiritually superior Jews, in fact Jews consider non-Jews so filthy that they even avoid stepping in their shadow and prefer to live far away from them in their own neighbourhoods and limit themselves to their own cliques... Jews consider Christianity to be Avodah Zarah (idol worship) and will not even enter a Church (but will enter a Mosque because they acknowledge we’re fellow monotheists and pray to the same Eloh/Allah). If you want hatred you want to look to what the Jews have taught and continue to do so, not only about regular Christians but about Christ and Mary (peace be upon them) or better still watch what the moron American Christians Priests/Preachers have to say about Allah/Islam/Muhammad/Muslims on TV channels like GOD, Revelation etc. or what the moron American Priest (who has close ties the President of the USA: Bush) has said about Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and Islam… Or look at what the Catholic Pope quoted and hence condoned about Islam.
The eastern religions like Hinduism are no different (e.g. Hindus in Mumbai not even wanting to live in the same apartment as non-Hindus or Hindus I personally know not sitting at the same tables as low-castes) but I’ll stick to the Abrahamic religions because we’re all familiar with them.
I’m not saying all this to create hatred for Judaism but rather to point out people’s doubles standards and over-sensitiveness when it comes to Islam.
Other religions are no different, Muslims are not intolerant but we know what’s right and what’s wrong and we’re not ashamed about it, we don’t beat around the bush or play with words when it comes to religion, we’re frank.
We’re tolerant in the sense that we don’t believe in forcing our religion on anyone else even if we believe ours is the only truth, we believe in agreeing to disagree, and we don’t stoop to low levels by cursing those things which others hold dear (even though we might believe them to be false) the way Christians, Jews and Hindus commit blasphemy agiants our beloved Prophet Mohammed (pbuh), our Holy Scripture the Noble Koran and ignorantly Allaah Himself (which happens to be the name Arab Christians and Arabic-speaking Jews also use for God).
If Muslim schools start teaching Muslims kids to go out and blow innocents up or put a knife to peoples throats and force them to become Muslim then that’s wrong but there is nothing wrong with believing their way is the only way as long as they don’t force it on anyone else or harm others because of their false beliefs.
I personally believe that Islam is the only way and all other religions are wholly (Jedai, Zeusism etc.) or atleast partly false (present day Judaism etc.) but I don’t hate their followers (hate the sinner not the sin) nor do I believe they should be forced to embrace the truth or blown up for their beliefs like we’re portrayed to believe.
And as for the bit about Jews turning into Apes and Swine’s, that certainly doesn’t imply that all Jews are or were apes and swines, it apples to those who broke the Sabbath. What people forget is that Muslims believe our religion is the same religion that was revealed to the earlier Hebrew Prophets and Eloh/Allah/God is simply warning Muslims not to commit the sins their former “co-religionists” from the earlier nations committed by disregarding His Orders or they would meet the same fate. Islam also condemns certain Arabs from the Prophet’s (pbuh) times.
Muslims certainly are not Anti-Semitic because Muhammad (pbuh) was a Semite with Arabs also being descendents of Abraham (pbuh), and nor are we Anti-Hebrew because in Islam we believe in and honour all the Hebrew Prophets/Kings such as Isaac, Moses, Aaron, Jacob, Solomon, Jesus, John (pbut) etc. The Virgin Mary (pbuh) who was a Hebrewess is one of the greatest Saints of Islam. Also two of the Hebrew disciples/companions of the Prophet PBUH that come to mind are his wife our Mother the Lady Saffiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) and a former Rabbi Abdullah Ibn Salaam (may Allah be pleased with him) are greatly honoured by Muslims.
So the bit about Jews being transformed to apes/swines doesn’t apply to all Hebrews or Jews but a certain sect of Jews for abandoning the Sabbath.

Did anyone watch Dispatches: Undercover Mosques? The sameway they took segments of the sermons out of context... The bit about the extinct Jewish sect who abandoned the Sabbath.. And another bit where a Mullah was talking about Armageddon and the Muslim forces of Christ and Mahdi against the Jewish forces of their awiated Messiah the Anti-Christ, they made it sound like we believe we're to go out on the streets and kill the first Jew we see... It was clearly talking about Armageddon, the Jehovah's Witnesses talk about Armageddon all the time, on one of the Christian missionary channels a Christian preacher was saying similar stuff saying the Anti-Christ will be Muslims/Arab even though the only Christ/Messiah we're waiting for is the return of is the Nazarene: Jesus son of Mary who we belive wasn't crucifed but raisen to heaven and will return...
God I’m so sick of Muslims being targeted and demonised everywhere…. . Not a single day when you don’t walk into Co-Op and the newspaper aisle doesn’t have a Muslim related headline screaming out at you… I didn’t want to be religious because I was too lazy but seeing Islam being targeted you can’t help but feel angry so you have to embrace your religion properly so that you can defend it when people say ignorant things..
I'm not surprised otherwise good people hate us so much, I just want to get on with everyone but whenever I meet a white person I don't know there's so much hatred in their voices they can't breathe.. Or when a colleague asks about my religion and I say Muslim the colour on their faces changed like I'm out to kill them, I've contemplated pretending to be Zoroastrian or Sikh (Hindu just wouldn't feel comfy and they'd beable to tell) but then I think I belive in Islam so i should be proud of who I am.
Honestly I'm only a young guy and seeing all this constant hatred everywhere for Islam/Muslims is giving me heart palpitations at my tender age, it's not so much fear but anger.
I didn't want to be a religious guy because I was lazy but now I don't think we can take our Muslim identity for granted and be indifferent to it anymore, we're going to have to educate ourselves on it, follow it and stand up for it when other sttack it and not let ourselves be brainwashed into what they consider right/proper.

She did a very poor job of defending whatever she was defending. Viewers (and I) saw her as reluctant to accept the offensive wording and rectify the situation.
Saudis have ENOUGH money to:
rip out the offending pages from the text book.
She said that the text book has some good lessons and can't be remove from the curriculum. She/they could very easily compile a new text book that had all the good lessons (those they cover/teach) sans the "monkeys and pigs" bit.
You know its funny that Saudi customs rips pictures of bikini clad women from your books. I have seen books with missing pages because Saudi customs officers went through them. When they send over their books overseas, they should extend similiar courtesies to their host country and remove offending materials.
