Cute :) Looks like you gonna have a litter soon on your hands :)

awww contact your local vet or SPCA. And let us know how she gets along!

there's not much u CAN do :D my cat is bout to have her second litter soon... hmm.. altho mine doenst live inside our house... she'll want a dry quiet place.. dark too... maybe the attic if u have one? or some place where ppl dotn frequent too much ... mine gave birth behind our washin machine whilst we were away... cuz no one can see the babies or the mother...
i dont think u havta be around for the delivery, i wasnt for my cat's first one and everythin turned otu fine... just give her lots of food ... play with her a bit... hmm.. keep her happy :) let her roam about. she maybe lookin for a place to give birth.. and i also suggest givin her up for adoption.. i mean ure dad didnt like oen cat.. will he love a litter??? cuz once she pops.. u cant seperate the kids from their mommy for a minimum of 3 months... altho my cat is still feedign her kid milk and its 5 months now.. so they need their momy... think think think.. teh humane society will take teh cat in too...

mis barfe
dont worry, its natural, if you have enough open space in front of the house let her have her litter there. it all comes naturally and you wont have to worry much, do take care of the mother, give her enough food and place to rest. do call up a vet if you'd want to, a vet would take great care of the whole thing and you'll have the extraordinary joy of living wiht kittens, believe me you'll love it when you'll see them running around playing, its amazing.

This is such a cute and inspiring thread. Although, I can't take in the pregnant cat I am glad your thread found a home in Life.

Since you are located in the USA

Salaam,

My 2 cents. I volunteer at the Local Shelter and you DONT want to do 2 things:

1) Give it to the shelter when it is pregnant
2) Give the Mom and the kittens to the Shelter when they are still feeding on her.

In both cases the cats will be euthanized.

My Suggestion is similar to what others have said. Give it a warm, dry place and she will take care of the rest. Cat’s gestation period is 2 months so you are in for a long wait. When the kittens are born, wait 4 weeks (ideally 7 weeks) and give them up for adoption.

I strongly suggest getting your animals spayed or neutered. The Shelters in America get close to 200 animals a day and nearly 6 - 7 Million animals are euthanized every year. If you want kittens you can go to the shelter and adopt them for 20 - 40 bucks. Spay or neuter surgery isn't that expensive either. Most vets fix dogs and cats for 25 - 70 dollars. Do a Google for shelters in your area and I am sure you will find an organization which will even fix your cats for free.

I know you didn't ask to hear all this. So again, a cat will take care of everything. If you feel like something is going wrong, in most cases the cat will have a better idea of how to deal with it.

thank u guys for ur help....well write now she in my lap..lookin at the screen .while i am typin ..and inshallah when she has kittens i will have open discusiion for good kitten names :) her name is PARI ..btw .SHE DOESNT LOOK IT BUT HEY BEAUTY LIES IN THE EYE OF THE CAT OWNER :) ...

my cat gave birth 5 times before we decided to spay her. I didn't think it was good idea to take away the motherhood first time :D but after having kids 5 times it affected her health very badly. I wouldn't wait that long.

Its very simple...as khawateen said..just make some dark, hidden and quite place for her. Get a large and spacious cardboard box from a grocery store and place it somewhere safe in the corner (opening facing the front). Place few nice warm clothes inside it...just try to make it as homie as possible for her. and make sure it has proper ventilation (make some small holes in the box) but also you have to make sure it remains dark as well. Start to make her notice the box few times a day by letting her go inside it so she will go inside and sit or at least keep it in her mind that the box is there. When right time comes, few days before birth she will start to go and sit in there herself.
At the time of birth just leave her alone in there for a day or so...cat's usually don't like to get interrupted. But also make sure her food or milk is out side the box whenever she needs it.
