Casualties of War - Coalition Forces (MERGED)

There has not been much word from the US military about these 11 dead allied soldiers - were they previously listed as missing, or are they new casualties?

They don't know yet Malik. Forensic scientists checking. Every GI had a DNA test before they left stateside. If they are? The families will be notified before the general public. Is that okay with you?

We shall see...

The warplan has failed miserably

The anglo-american casualties continue to mount. So do the iraqi civilian casualties. Contrary to what they've said, US/UK haven't made a whole lot of progress accept gaining control of tha airport formely known as saddam international airport! They're marching ahead to baghdad, infact 1st tanks are already in the capital.

These guys are just desperate to get into baghdad. There's just one or two cities that they've gained complete control of (the names escape me), in the rest they're being met with heavy resistance. All their supply lines are continually being attacked on. Just goes to show that their warplan is full of loopholes.

This war, it looks like, is gonna drag on for months. The sad part is that the longer the war, the more the casualtis - on both sides

Coalition body count: More then 200 dead

Iraqi civilian body count: atleast 550 dead

Iraqi military body count: unknown (maybe in thousands)

What irks me is that some press seem to attribute U.S. soldier casualties to Iraqi civilian casualties......

Like the U.S. is at war with civilians instead of soldiers.

It's a wonder why all the Arab news agencies, (especially State run).... keep reporting in this manner while their populations keep getting more angry about the civilians.

No wonder there are riots.

its quite suspicious when i hear so many crashes and friendly fire incidents. i think most of these incidents occur due to iraqi fire rather then friendly fire! its quite amazing how hypocritical the US gov. and US media is. they've lied all the way thru. i knew they were liars but i dint knew they were this big....!!

-------------- i don't think that any military like to attribute their casualties to friendly fire. its like disrespecting your fallen brothers, and shows lack of training and discipline, but it happens. its war. I'm pretty sure that the number of such incidents are less when compared to other militaries. they prolly spin the whole thing and report it as a big fire fight.

go read and see what US military had to go through (regarding friendly fire casualties) after the First gulf war.

its not any military, its the american military - masters of hypocrisy & lies. they'll do, and have done, anything that'll keep the normal public at bay, the approval ratings high, and the economic conditions encouraging. the others do it too, but no one beats them.

there is heavy resistance every where for the coalition forces, and to say that 80 or 90 % [like the cnn has been saying since the start] of the deaths were coz of friendly fire and not by enemy fire defies common sense. and even they were friendly fire, the # is startling. there are such incidents reported everyday, and many others that go unreported.

finally, i dont dont care what they went thru [gd or bad] during the 1st GW.

as i said earlier " no army in the world wants friendly fires".

how much you know about US military. probably nothing. they want to tell the public that after spending million of dollars on training and equipment they are shooting their ppl. approval ratings----------- haha good one------ try telling a mom that his son/daughter died cuz of friendly fire.

show me where in any other conflict did a country admitted to friendly casualties. lets see lets take Kargil conflict or you pick one.

or maybe we are just that good.

compare to ............ what. you have any stats.

as far as the US hiding its number of deaths its impossible. you just cann't hide the facts. they gota tell the family members at sometime. its not something which one hide.

another big factor is the protective gear US forces are provided. among the basic stuff, Bullet proof kevlar, bullet vest capable of stopping atleast a few shots. so lets see, ones head, neck, chest and back are are protected. so

Suicide Bomber Kills ‘Some’ Troops in Baghdad, US Says

A U.S. officer said “some” U.S. soldiers were killed in a suicide attack at a military checkpoint in Baghdad Thursday. Asked by reporters how many U.S. servicemen died in the incident, Marine officer Matt Baker said: “Some are dead in the attack but I don’t know how many.” Baker said the attack occurred north of the Palestine Hotel in central Baghdad, where journalists covering the Iraq war are staying. He could give no more details about the attack. Earlier CNN reported that four Marines had been seriously wounded in the suicide attack.

I hope that the guy who did it is doing OK and is feeling fine. I think it is a brilliant move, more people should follow on his footstep.

wats the count on the casualties of american / uk troops in iraq.
i cant seem to find the exact number. somewhere i read 555, but i'm not sure about it.

if anyone has a more accurate count on us/uk casulaties or on iraqi civilian casualties feel free to post it...

us casualties = 502

total coalition casualties = 598

source: http://lunaville.org/warcasualties/Summary.aspx

Over 500 foreign fighters of the US army killed, still cannot compare to the tens of thousands of Iraqi’s these terrorists have slaughtered in the last nine months.

^ Add two more, todays count…!

Two US soldiers have been killed by a roadside bomb detonated as their convoy drove near Falluja, US officials say.

Add three more to today’s count…

5 Americans killed in two attacks in Iraq

A car bomb exploded in a town west of Baghdad on Saturday, killing three American soldiers and injuring six soldiers and several Iraqi civilians, the military said. A four-wheel-drive vehicle drove up to the checkpoint at a bridge and blew up in front of a Humvee that tried to block it, said a witness, who spoke on condition of anonymity. He said there were about 20 soldiers in the vicinity at the time. A U.S. military spokesman said the attack took place in Khaldiyah, 70 miles west of Baghdad, killing three Americans and wounding six other soldiers. The spokesman, who did not wish to be identified, said several Iraqi civilians were also wounded in the attack, and one of them was evacuated to a military base for treatment. He said two of the wounded soldiers were taken to a combat support hospital and four were being treated at a local military base.

Eight injured Iraqis were admitted to a hospital in the nearby town of Ramadi, including six women and two men, said Dr. Ahmed Nasrat Jabouri. He said one of them was in a serious condition. Two other American soldiers were killed earlier Saturday in a roadside bomb near Fallujah town. The latest deaths raised to 512 the number of American service members who have died since the United States and its allies launched the Iraq war March 20. Most of the deaths have occurred since President Bush declared an end to major combat May 1. Khaldiyah and Fallujah are part of the Sunni Triangle, the area in central Iraq where most of the anti-U.S. attacks by die-hard Saddam Hussein loyalists have taken place. The U.S. military says the attacks have reduced in number since Saddam’s arrest on Dec. 13.

Another soldier killed from an attack yesterday…that’s 8 US soldiers killed in just the last two days.

http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsPackageArticle.jhtml?type=worldNews&storyID=444870&section=news

We now have no less than 68 US and “coalition” soldiers killed since Saddam’s capture six weeks ago, and 610 killed in total since this illegal war was launched in March 2003.
