Does castor oil really promote hair growth? The lady that does my eyebrows told me today that I could apply some castor oil in some areas of my eyebrows to grow them out, is this true? Can I also use it on my hair to make it grow faster?
Any idea?

dont use caster oil on your face....if you want..use vit E oil...
for hair..mix olive oil, vit E oil and amla oil...warm it and massage it to stimulate the scalp....
the massaging stimulates the follicles waking up the hair...its not the just the oil that makes the hair grow...

yes castor oil can be used to stimulate hair growth, i use it on my eyelashes to thicken them
Teh oil is quite thick in nature, quite viscous, i don’t put in my hair on my head sonce i find it is quite hard to wash out, but it does definitely help hair growth
I also use it on my face by combining it with extra vigin olive oil to carry out the OIL CLEANSING METHOD, teh castor oil is used to deep cleanse teh skin while the oilve oil is used to soften the skin

I love applying castor oil to my lashes, it gives a clear mascara sort of a look which I love.

take my advice DONT ever put it in ur eyebrows! one of my friends was trying it and now her eye brows are really nasty she hates them!! am serious and u will have a hard time with them later!

Can someone seriously explain how an oil, applied to the outside of skin can biologically make the production of hair in the hair bulb work at a faster rate?
There are no "miracle cures". Everything has a good explanation.
If there are parts missing from someone's beard, then they most probably have a fungal infection. Castor oil is an anti-fungal product. There goes the 'miracle'.
Hair, if you are healthy, grows at a maximum rate of about half an inch to an inch per month. There is nothing you can do to make it grow faster because you hair isn't there to make you look pretty. Your hair is there because it's meant to protect you (as eyebrows and eye lashed protect the eyes) and keep you warm. In summer, you find that hair grows a little faster, but also sheds alot more. It's hot, you don't "need" so much hair anyways. In winter, the body wants to keep the hair longer, so it slows down a little to preserve the amount of hair..
This has no effect on our well being today because we wear clothes and hats and umbrellas. But that's a little "science" for you.
Get that Castor oil out of your hair and off your eyebrows. Unless you are constipated or have hemorrhoids, you don't need it.
