Have always known (thanks dad!) that we belong to a Gujjar Choudhury family and that our sub-caste is Takkur (Tikkrieh). Have married into a Mehr clan. Wanted to know if there were any differences between the two? What are the origins of both? Have lots of gaps in my knowledge and sadly both sides elders are either not available or willing to help.

I have no idea and am not relying on it to help me either! If you're referring to my comment about our elders not being available/willing to help- that relates to telling us more about our ancestry.

Mehr = Arain = Rajput
Gujjars = Jat
