Oaky may be I didn't word it right, just make the check out to your mother, have her deposit/cash it.
On back of the check write,
Pay to the order of ~Aunty Sara ki Ammi~
signature -> Sara 516
signature -> Sara ki Ammi

no you don’t need a joint account with your parents to deposit your check. just sign the check with your name and attach their account deposit slip. That’s it.

Thats what I was trying to tell her. But like I said, some banks might even cash/deposit it right then and there, but most according to their rules and regulations might not. It differs from bank to bank
