Hi anyone here having a career in IT audit ?
I have some questions regarding the entry path to this career.
Is it viable for mid level IT professionals with 3-4 years of software development/ implementation/professional services experience to enter this career…?
From what I understand reading about the profession I think it should be very suitable for people to enter this career after having some experience of IT operations/management, but when I look at the jobs in the industry I get the perception that it is not…,even for those professionals that have passed industry certification tests like CISA but are not certified(You cannot get certified just by passing the test ,you need 5 years of field experience in audit, 1 year can be waived of for CS-undergrad degree & 1 year for IT experience) because they will not get full recognition for their IT experience in terms of job responsibilities & positions offered.., is this correct ?
& in the light of this is it recommended for people who have an interest in the field but have a reasonably stable & successful career in IT to consider a switch of career path in this direction?
Thanks in Advance
