I need to update my wardrobe. I am tired of the same old buttoned up shirts and pants. My company has a very casual work environment since our contact with the client is perhaps no more than 10 times a year.
Please share any ideas of what is in, whats hot/whats not etc. And also where I can buy some decent stuff. No short shirts or sleeveless blouses, please. I love skirts as well, esp the flowy, full skirts like some arabs wear. I always get compliments when i wear those. Actually hijab ideas for workplace would be welcome as well. Please share your ideas/suggestions.
Its so hard shopping for clothes in the west. :hinna: Either stuff is too short or too tight or too revealing. I need a new look! :Pretty:
for work, wool cardigans in pretty colors like pale green, pink, lavendar, baby blue, basic black and white are a great investment since they can be layered on top of tank tops in spring and worn in winters as well. and they go with everything from khakis to jeans to trousers.
dark blue denim trousers (flat front) also look very chic. I think express carries really nice ones.
i think long skirts can look work appropriate if worn with a crisp button down, a nice belt, a colorful scarf around the neck and a funky necklace.
If you are conservative but dont wanna look stuffy then invest in nice classics like flat front trousers in khaki, black, brown, a trench coat, white/black blouses in long sleeves and v necked and prettify your wardrobe by accessorizing with colorful multicolored belts (u know the silk ones?), scarves, chunky jewellery or necklaces.
shweets…those are some very good ideas. I do get a lot of cardigans and sweaters for winter since they go with anything but i think i am getting tired of having them for a couple years now.
the flat front pants, i am sorry but what are those? how is it different than other pants. I will have to visit express now.
Nice belts sound good. I am willing to try something different. I am usually very famous throughout the office for wearing colorful stuff, lol. I dont just wear black and greys. And yeah i wear the skirts with button downs. Looks more professional that way.
