Why one or the other? People can also manage to have both in their lives. Even if you were to only pick a career....that doesn't exempt you from responsibilities and making compromises (which are a part of life)...and even though you don't have a spouse and children to contend with......you'd still have to deal with managing various relationships and the conflicts that come with them.
To think that just one path will meet all your needs doesn't make sense. Situations have their pros and cons. A marriage can't give you what a career can....a career can't give you the things that a marriage/kids can.

for me it would be marriage children and home making,and let hubby follow the career path and be breadwinner after all this is what life is all about
dont knock the home(or Allah SWT system)...it's alot of hard work and I enjoy my perks and freedom too much...
being a married woman or housewife,mother, doesnt mean you are illiterate or subservient
This way I can bring the next generation up better for a better nation..

to keep sanity Alive, my preference is marriage over career.
you can always find a new job with same benefits or rob the bank or invest in google shares, but you cant find "The One".
