Re: Career oppurtunities in Dubai
I hope they (UAE) do enough to commensurate their spending on these glitzy vices with that on defence…cause a week of bombing by the IDF, as was the case with Lebonan, will undo all of it…

Re: Career oppurtunities in Dubai
^^ Speaking of defence,
UAE has a big fleet of the most advanced F-16's in the world (F-16 E/F), which neither USA, nor Israel, nor any other nation on earth possesses.
UAE also has a big fleet of the most advanced Mirage variant aircrafts (Mirage-2009), which neither France, nor Israel, nor any other nation on earth possesses.
Both platforms are superior to anything which Israel has.
Moreover, there is no reason as to why Israel would want to attack UAE. What can Israel gain out of it?
UAE has great diplomatic relations with the West (and the East). There are so many foreign expats residing in UAE; so many foreign investors. I don't think these foreign hosts will be very happy with Israel (apart from U.S) if they attack UAE.
Recently, there was a report which stated that Dubai is the safest country on the planet.
Re: Career oppurtunities in Dubai
In KSA & UAE, per my knowledge, Yemeni people get treated the worse (because they are black), followed by Indians (usually dark, and non-Muslim), and then Pakistanis.
Places like Syria & Jordan, many people would dismiss Blacks as animals, and they are more racists towards South Asians, than those in KSA & UAE.
As far I know from my Pakistani brothers who wanted to go to the gulf and work.. In the entire gulf- Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Saudi they'll really like you if you tell you are a Pakistani and a muslim- usually they help fellow muslim brothers.. They don't like Shias and Hindus for they are not very fond of but-parast.
Re: Career oppurtunities in Dubai
Hey guys,
Whats the scope for a recent university graduate applying for a Marketing job in Dubai?
I am born and raised in Canada and completed my university education (B.B.A.) from here. Unfortunately I do not have professional experience but do have semi-business experience working in a supervisory role for the worlds largest retailer (this while going through my education) and plenty of volunteer work.
Thanks

Re: Career oppurtunities in Dubai
Hey Mal1k.. thanks for the help.
Actually I'm based (and born) in Canada. I was just contemplating a move to Dubai because I have previously heard many good things about that place and its opportunities.
Like I said I am a new graduate from uni in Canada and bilingual in english and partially in french and spanish. Also work at Wal-Mart as Customer Service Manager.
Anyways.. what can someone expect for a salary over there (USD)? Holidays? Accomodation/Car (is it offered by company)? What is the cost of living in Dubai?
Thanks!

What you can expect for a salary is entirely depends on your qualifications, your negotiation skills and a bit of luck too. But do make sure that it's a really good package, before moving here because the costs of living have increased dramatically in the recent past, especially the rents.
