hi,
i have completed my BBA and MBA finance from pakjistan, now pursuing cfa level 2. i am moving to newyork soon. i need advice regarding my career. im interested in valuation jobs, but i dont know if i will be able to get it without any US degree? should i go for masters there or search for a job instead? i would prefer job though..
Don't waste money on MBA. Get some relevant job and complete your CFA. If you then figure that you need an MBA from USA, then go for it.
my only concern is would i get a good job without any US degree? cuz i heard that its near impossible? to get a good job..
or if i do get any by chance, thn dere wont b career advancement opportunities. id b stuck for life?
If you can get an MBA from a good school you can jump up many steps on the ladder.
Although the top unis will usually ask for a few years of relevant experience. Where your current degrees are from will have an impact too.
If you had time, I would have suggested to get some good experience in Pakistan, even if it was for a year. In your current situation your best bet is to start at an entry level role in a target field and then go for an MBA in 2-4 years

i dont have time as im moving to usa, this may. so i gues i can go for msc program instead? if you can guide me regrding better msc finance programs? as i had average grades in bba. so i dont think i have chance at top schools
I am not familiar with MSc finance programs, but there was a lengthy post in this section about benefits of MS finance over MBA for ppl in finance. Do a quick search. If you don't find it I will try and post a link.
For masters programs here, typically they will look at your MBA as equivalent to a bachelors. So if your MBA grades were better you will be in a stronger position than you think you are in. Where did you do your MBA in Pakistan from?
One big question is, what do you want to do career wise?
Hi guys I am looking for some career advice too. A bit about me first... Basically I am a UK citizen, born and bred here. I hope to complete my LLB (hons) next year Inshallah. I am considering relocating to Pakistan as my inlaws live there and my husband is also from Pakistan. I am hoping to secure a job there and enrol my children in English schools. I would greatly appreciate any advice you guys can give me career wise. My ultimate aim would be to secure job in British High Commission. My husband also has a degree in accounting and finance from UK and a British passport. Thanks in advance guys xxxx
^ I would assume in order to work for the British High Commission you would need to qualify for civil service exams. I could totally wrong, but why not get in touch with the British HC to see who would qualify for a position.
