It’s Chevy Impala LE 2005. The problem is it sometimes starts sometimes doesn’t. I don’t hear anything, just a low click noise but nothing else. All the lights come on.
It’s not the battery because it was replaced a couple of weeks ago for the same problem. Someone told me it might be the starter.
Any helps is appreciated before I take it to a mechanic. Or is there something I can do myself? Thanks.

low clicking noises as in you turn the key and you hear "tick tick tick tick ...." then it's the starter. And most likely the brushes inside the starter which are really $10 to replace but no one's gonna do that for you, unless you do it yourself, Nonethless starter motors are not pricey. There's a test you can perform to determine if it's the starter (may not work 100% of the time though). Find a stick (something solid not hallow) and hit the starter with moderate force a few times and then turn the key. Sometimes hitting the starter motor helps in getting it moving again. If you don't know what the starter looks like and whether it's aaccessible from the hood or from underneath then please don't attempt self-diagnosis and also I'm assuming your battery is fully charged.
But if the engine is trying hard to turn over but isn't then it could be something else, like plugs, wires, fuel.....

yep. seems like an starter issue. but do get your altnernator checked too.

It's not constant ticking sound but one low click sound as I turn the key. You can hardly hear it. There is no other sound. I'm almost certain it is starter but I'm going to the mechanic today. Thanks.

Just one click? Usually the starter selenoid make mutiple clicking noises.
One click sounds like not enough current supply to the starter.
Anyhow, keep this thread updated once its fixed, please.

it sounds like your car may have a problem with it's 'STARTER'...put a used one in from the wreckers...it costs about $65 here in Canada and 50 bucks to put it in.
before you do that reach under the hood and give the starter a couple of whacks with a small hammer...sometimes, this hammering fixes the problem.

Try to plan your trips around the time your car starts.

When it doesn't start, how do you start it?
Check your battery terminal connections.
