Well, i’m in the Canadian market these days looking for a VW Jetta GLS or Honda Accord or similar preferably '95 and above. Automatic, minimal requirements are that it runs, and has a tape/cd deck. Any sellers? dealers? I’m still looking into leasing options but I wanna see if I can own one before paying a car to rent for the four year term. Reason, that I’m sticking to owning a car instead of leasing because I’m planning on making a few changes to the intake and engine for performance.

Well dear Coco, if you are going for a VW, then I can say, you have made the right choice. Just wonder, why not a passat, why Jetta ?
My recommandations, are if you are buying a second car, then you can go and check with dealers, but I have noticed that their prices are more then, if you buy a car from someone private. Try searching in the local newspaper if possible.

$1,150 for a '98 Jetta... this seems to be a typo. The one above is has higher miles and 10 times the price. Doesn't make too much sense.

yeah both cars have equal advantages. I'm a die hard accord fan but a friend of mine has a VW and its not bad at all cutting corners and all the fun stuff. Only prob as you mentioned that the after market parts are scarce for VW and more for Honda. With VW there isn't much you can do with the engine/body as opposed to honda. My primary goal is to get sport shocks, tires, rims, change the intake, air, exhaust, add a few HP's wherever I can and the rest will be for looks cuz with a 4 cyl (current 180+- HP) and 100 kmph (speed limit never adhered to) cop magnet you can't really go fast. so gotta remain a bit on the safe side. even this process will take over a year to build sigh i wish i was rich at times.

I have heard about the Toronto Police Force’s auction. Its OK, but repodepo is the BIGGEST repo company in the GTA.
oh COCO, also look into the NISSAN 240SX. Its a bit more than the Accord, but its a car noone else will have.

Yeah, I went to the Repo Depo checked out a few cars, concluded that I'd be buying a lemon if I got one from there even though they're damn cheap. I checked out Autotrader, these days there isn't a good deal out so I'm looking at financing or leasing. Lets see what happens.
Its either Toyota Celica or VW Golf TDI so far.
