What type of car seat do guppy parents recommend for 20 lb baby. I can still use her infant car seat but want to move up to the toddler car seat. I don’t want to buy 4 car seats (as recommended). I want to buy something for a small car and something that will last. Pls share.
Re: Car Seats
I have Sunshine Kids Radian 65s for my boys and I LOVE them. My car is pretty small and these are slim enough to fit all 3 in my car. They're comfortable with a 5-point harness and they fold flat when you take them out. It works for birth thru 65 pounds so these are the only ones I'll ever need so I didnt mind spending that much on them.
Re: Car Seats
paayri83,
I did some research recently to upgrade our daughter’s car seat and after reading few articles and watching few youtube videos, decided to stick with infant car seat (rear facing) as long as possible.
The reason is because even if the baby has reached the minimum required age/weight limit for forward facing seat, fact of the matter is that rear facing car seat is StILL the SAFEST for the child. It has to do with their neck. Watch this video and you’ll see why.
My recommendation is to use rear facing as long as possible. We are sticking with our rear facing car seat and I think it’d be good 4 - 6 months more before my almost 15 months old is too big for the rear facing and we’d have to switch.
I got Britax Marathon after my son grew out of his first car seat... he was a big boy and Britax Marathon was the one where I felt he would be comfortable for a while....
mamaof3: I wanted to get that one too. But is it too small or narrow?
Roman: I am going to use the infant car seat for as long as possible. We have keyfit 30 which goes to 30 lbs. My daughter is 19 lbs. I want to start looking for a car seat so when the time comes I have one already in mind and don't have to research then. I think her infant car seat will be good until she is 1 yrs old. Inshallah.
Carp: Is it a bulky car seat?
Re: Car Seats
Pyaari, it is a narrow seat but not too narrow for a kid. My middle son is a big boy, weighs a bit over 50 lbs and he is comfortable in it with even a little room to grow.
Re: Car Seats
mamaof3 I wanted to get the carseat you recommended but my husband didn't want to spend a lot of money so he bought the Alpha Omega Convertible Car Seat from Costco....any reviews on it?
