^ they go from rear facing for infants up to 1 year old, to forward facing, and have higher weight/height capacity. however, if you plan on getting a stroller that will be compatible with your car seat, ie travel system style, then you cannot use a convertible carseat in that case as they do not click on to stroller frames.

personally, our kid is on track to outgrow his infant carseat well before 1 and i’m really going to miss the convenience of using it with his stroller.

i see, that makes sense. i do want to be able to use the car seat as a stoller as well so will be looking for travel systems.

theres just so many out there which makes it more confusing. any good recommendations for travel systems?
