Re: ...Car Lovers...
Extremely khotey.
Re: ...Car Lovers...
hmmm .. BMW nice choice ... better if u look at its maintainance cost ... bcz if maintainance is in limits ... thats really a good thing ...
Re: …Car Lovers…
@ the question
the diff between accord and bmw is the same as Aberocombie and No boundary shirt .. BMW’s avgly down progress starts after 120-130 k where as Accord’s down progress starts of with 135-140k
and the price diff comes due to the luxuries provided by BMW .. the most common one is STEREO SYSTEM of both carz and much much more
MY PERSONAL REDOMENDATION: go with new Altima 05 .. its bare econimcal .. does 350 miles on 15 gallons which is much better then ACCORD n CAMRY and have a better pick then CAMRY and the speedo meter, gear box and other interior features make it look far better then both.
and if u want my way … then buy u a 95 accord .. get an HOHC engine replaced with the stock one, get it droped, add loop files *thats wat the call it rite?) on front wheels, replace breaks with 4 disc breaks, add a rising spoiler, put intake and preload exhaust, chop the front and get it replaced with ACURA 3.2l and ur basic car is ready .. do rest of the modification urself.
Re: ...Car Lovers...
Maddy Thanks for the detailed reply. In your opinion, should I go ahead with the BMW? Probably a 2002-2003 3 or 5 series. Depending on the price. My second choice is what I had before: An accord. The newer models are nice as well. If not BMW, then it'll be an accord because I've tried it and I loved it.
Jony Jab Pakistan aaya karoonga tou suzuki hi liya karoonga :p
Jaan Lewaa I am sure your dad must've kept it neat and clean and takes good care of it. People who don't take care, rape the engine, drive it carelessly, then their car starts to die. Ford is an OK car. Our first ford started wasting so much gas after 100K that we had to sell it.
Lalas Yeah, I loved his mercedes. I will get in touch with him before my final decision.
Sinner You are right. I also had that in mind. That's why I went to an insurance company and asked for a quote on a BMW's insurance. It was about the same as my current insurance on Accord, actually less than accord. Because I only want to spend the money one time. I don't wanna keep spending a lot of money on the insurance, gas, maintainance etc. I take very good care of my car so I don't think I'll have to take it to a mechanic very often unless some emergency comes up but it won't be on my part.
Mr. Bombastic Yes, Altima is a nice car too.
Re: …Car Lovers…
Well, me being a hi-fi car expert and all :fraduia:… I suggest you buy the BMW 740IL.
That’s because my daddy has it ![]()
It’s a big big car and the doors are huge kasme I have to use both of my feet to pry them open when I’m getting out…But it’s pretttyyy ![]()
Re: ...Car Lovers...
bmw's are nice yea , and they hold their value better for reasons maddy explained.
if u want to spend 20k i suggest u get the new civic si. Basically an acura rsx with a honda badge , its brand new . 197 hp ... get it with stick shift and itll be pretty fun to drive.
Maybe you should look at 1999 - 2003 acura TL and CL type S. 260 hp in type s form ,250 in the normal one. You will probably be able to get them in that range , pretty fun to drive and they look better than hondas and give u better image too.Even though acura is honda...
while im at it ... u could probably get a nissan altima 3.5 for the same money. 250 hp. Pretty fast.
Or audi .. although they can be pretty expensive to fix.
u have a lot of options .. if i were u i would go for the acura ..
Re: ...Car Lovers...
TRUST ME: BUY A ACCORD 05! That thing is nice and cheap maintainence! Good Gas Mileages too and really POWERFULL and after all its a HONDA! So Keep it Gangsta and Desi at the same time!
Re: ...Car Lovers...
Iori Yagami & Desiplaya Thanks. If I would go with Honda, I will go with what I had before: An Accord. Civic looks too small. I could go with 2005 but I don't want to. My reason is that I want to spend the money one time. I don't want to spend money on high insurance every month. The newer the model, the more you have to pay for the insurance. On the other hand, if you have a 2-3 years older model, it's still pretty good and less for the insurance.
I don't know, I am stuck between a BMW or an Accord. I would rather buy a brand new Accord for 20K than a used BMW driven 60K+. I think I will compare the price, features, and insurance cost before I make my final decision.
Re: …Car Lovers…
On price, features and insurance cost, the new Accord will win every time.
On fun to drive, the BMW will win.
Why don’t you test drive the BMW and then decide? The one reason why you would own a BMW instead of a Accord is because the BMW is a sportier car.
In 1999 my dad was tempted to sell the BMW (5 years old by that time) and buy a Honda Accord to replace it. On price, features and insurance cost the Honda Accord made incredibly good sense.
Then my dad took the Accord for a test drive. We left the dealership immediately thereafter. My dad thought the Accord did not handle well, it rolled too much, and was too noisy inside. He stated that after driving the BMW he just could not be happy with the Accord.
It has harder suspension so it leans less in corners, it has rear-wheel drive so it is more balanced and avoids understeer, and its interior is designed to feel reminiscent of a cockpit rather than simply a place to sit and drive.
The Accord will have more interior space. All BMWs are designed to be first and foremost drivers cars.
My 3 year old Volvo S60 with 50,000 miles on it cost as much as a brand new Honda Accord V6, but given a choice, I would go and buy the Volvo all over again. There’s a special feeling you get from a luxury sports sedan that you just don’t get in other cars.
But I’m aware that the car may need work since its ageing. That’s why I bought a genuine Volvo 4-year extended warranty to cover almost any failure in my car until April 2009. If you buy a used BMW, I’d recommend do it from a dealer on BMW’s approved used scheme so that you get a 2-year warranty with it.
To be honest, most desis would want the sensible car rather the fun car. I know that back in the days when I was your age, I was of that mindset and so I bought a brand new Honda civic instead of a used sports sedan.
I eventually developed into a mindset that sensibility and practicality be damned, I wanted a sportier car with a powerful engine with lots of torque and sports (hard) suspension, so I went and bought the used Volvo when I moved to Canada.
Certainly, I did consider the Honda Accord but the sight of it never took my breath away like the sight of a sleek Volvo S60 did.
Re: ...Car Lovers...
If you were offered both cars, which one would you pick?
A. A used BMW probably 2002 driven 50K+
OR
B. A brand new (or almost new 2004-2005) Accord with less than 25K
Ofcourse I would test drive a BMW to feel what it feels like and I've driven an Accord already but I'll test drive the newer one as well. I have to call the dealer some day because Capital One gave us a list of car dealers who are assisting Capital One employees who lost their cars due to flooding. I am not sure if they are giving us some discount or some easy payment plan or what. That's also a factor in my decision.
Re: ...Car Lovers...
You should definately test drive the new Accord. Honda made refinements to its interior quality that should be worth checking out.
I would pick the BMW because:
1) It would make me feel special - BMWs are not as common as Honda Accords
2) I like hard suspensions on cars because I hate body roll in corners
3) After test-driving the rear-wheel drive Cadillac CTS, I suddenly have a new respect for rear wheel drive handling. You feel the car differently
4) The BMW probably has more sound deadening
5) The BMW feels tighter on the inside, more wrapped around you as the driver and makes you the driver feel special. As a single guy, most of my driving in on my own and I want a car that makes me feel good when driving rather than feeling spacious for my occasional in-car guests.
Re: …Car Lovers…
I have similar thoughts. Just called the dealer and he said he’ll give me an additional 5% discount in additon to $500 AFTER the negotiated final price. I will check out what he has in stock probably on Wednesday IF my dad says it’s ok to stop at a dealership on our way back to Houston from New Orleans :halo:
