Before Tim’s daughter went off to college, his family took a
vacation in Colorado. So he flew to Denver and rented a car.
They visited the Royal Gorge Bridge, which is more than 1000
feet above the Arkansas River.
Walking out onto the bridge, Tim noticed it swaying in the
wind. Then a car went past them, and the wood-plank roadway
moved beneath Tim’s feet. “I don’t think I want to drive the
car across this bridge,” he finally said.
“What are you worried about?” the daughter replied.** “It’s a
rental.”**
