hahaha all that fat and sugar. Tauba hai this is why I never tried her recipe they are filled with diabetes causing stuff. And same goes for Ina, and then she takes a bite and goes yum.

Idk. On one hand, I don't get what hte backlash is all about, she's not exactly forcing u to eat her food every single day/for every single meal. I think she's come out and said that food is all about moderation. I'd say her health issues are her health issues and it's personal BUT the fact that she's revealed it only because she's goingto be profitting off her illness kinda makes her look very insincere and fake. but....eh.

It's possible that her diet played a strong role....but if diabetes runs in her family...it can increase her chances of getting it. That's another point to consider "y'aaaawllll."

She cooks some delicious stuff lol. And i actually think Ina Garten cooks rather healthy things. =/
Anyways, food (any kind) is about moderation.

my bad I was thinking about Nigella but wrote Ina. Nigella was notorious for heavy amounts of cream, butter, oil and sugar in her cooking and it showed in her figure. She has done an amazing job of losing weight and I think is half her size. I haven't watched any shows of her after her losing all that weight but I do hope she has incorporated good eating habits into her cooking.
Food tastes awesome with all the rich stuff but sadly our lifestyles can't let us eat all of that and try to maintain a normal weight.

I get what you're saying Sara.
What I hate is that she's become an ambassador of this Diabetes drug, when by her actions she hasn't exactly been promoting a healthy lifestyle. It's like saying eat all the junk you can, I have the drug for you when you develop type 2 Diabetes. I've never heard her use the word moderation in her show, maybe she has started recently. But again, her recipes are anything but moderate.

her son Bobby now has his own show on Cooking Channel called “remaking my momma’s recipes” or something like that. apparently, he’s a born-again health nut now and is going to do over his mom’s food minus all the butter etc…

The Deens are smart I must say. First momma makes money by showing us her heart attack inducing recipes. Then along comes sonny to “fix” that and make even more money!

I find her recipes fun but Paula herself stupid.
If you're cooking in your own kitchen for yourself - eat what you want.
But when you have that many eyes on you...you do have a responsibility towards those people.
She might know what she's doing but when people look to you for guidance...things change.
She should be showing people how to enjoy food in a more healthy way.

I don't have a problem with her recipes. Most chefs use heavy ingredients in their recipes. The much loved julia child once said if you don't like butter, use cream.
However, she cashing in on her diabetes and all of a sudden going healthy (only after sealing the deal) is very shady of Paula.

Just my two cents here, but I find Paula to be annoying and a tad on the insane side.
