Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

This last weekend i went to a restaurant with my family. On the next table i saw a woman whose face was excessively overly full of bigg skin bubbles - i dont even know how to explain it. They were these skin bags (mokay called in urdu) every where on her face. Not even her eye lids were left from them. Her forehead, her cheeks, nose, eyes, chin, upper lip, neck even her hands every single area was full of those big baggy things. They were all 1-2 cm size and didnt even have a 0.5 cm spacing between them. I have never ever seen anything of the sort. My mother had seen her some 7-8 years ago and she had that prblem then too. I think she had the problem by birth. Every one was staring at her & just scared of her.Me and my family members were unable to eat anything because we were all upset at seeing her situation.

After seeing her situation, i realized how thankless we are. We cry over pores, we obsess over clear skin, we want every single pimple off our face some how, we want to be fairer - We are just a bunch of thankless people. For 2-3 days i havent been able to over come what she might be going through when she cant use any make up on her face, go to social events or any where for that matter confidently, how low self esteem she may have, how even washing her face was a big problem for her. ALLAH MAAF karay any one ever has to go through what she is going through. After that day i have stopped obsessing over clear skin and using every type of cosmetic or totka to get my tiniest of pimple away. I am just realllyyyyyyy realllllyyyyyyy thankful to Allah for giving me the skin, the look and features as is! I dont care how many pimples i have .. God has been too gracious on me to give me that skin.I think we all should thank as much as we can and stop criticing our skins being oily, blemished, pimple prone etc. We have a skin and a face that itself is a big big blessing! alhamdullilah.

^ thanks for posting this. You're absolutely right, most of us have A LOT to be thankful for.

Wow..it must be so difficult for her :( You're right, here we are obsessing over evry pimple and blemish while there are others out there who have awful problems related to skin/health whatever that we cant even begin to comprehend..it must be so difficult for her esp if shes in Paks where to be fair people arent always tactful! She must get stared at and pointed to all the time..hmm hope Allah makes it easier for her and has mercy on her..alhumdulillah we should all be thankful for everything we have. Thanks for posting btw x

Thank you for posting this! :)

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

wow, this thread brought some memories. It is some sort of a bacterial infection. I had it on half of my face (yup, just half..:|) when I was about 10. It was truly shattering to see my face in the mirror. I wasn't allowed to go out or interact with anyone for months. All the other kids would make fun of me :(. It also left white marks on my face after it was gone. I thought they would never go away. Thanks to my mommy for brainwashing me to always look beyond my face.

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

You know what I was going to write something silimar in my blog. I saw something which was equally upsetting. We are a bnuch of selfish people who constantly want more and are NOT happy with what we already have. It's only when you loose something you have, you begin to realise its value and importance :)

Almost everyone is obsessed with good looks and people who say they aren't are obviously telling the truth. We live in a very materialistic world. I was having a convo with my mum about how when she was young the girls didn't always used to see their husbands before they were married. Now things have changed, the first thing someone looks at is LOOKS. People can deny it as much as they want but the truth is evident. People want to make themselves look better. Individuals are constantly competing with eachother.

It could be neurofibramatosis/ von reckinghausen's disease.
I saw a patient with the same disease and she was a hostel warden.

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

That is so true, thanks for posting this up and reminding us!

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

Thankyou for a usefull post.

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

I think i know what you are talking about, I saw this show once at National Geographic or Discovery about this Chinese guy who had these bags all over his face and he was mentioning how his life style is and It was dreadful.

We dont realize what a blessing our lives have been. How blessed we have been! We nag over little things and are always so unthankful to Allah Almighty who keeps on blessing us with unlimited blessing without expecting anything in return. We must always be thankful to HIM becuz God never creates JUNK!

I've seen a woman with a similar problem, she is employed at the same university where I teach..and as you said, Allah muaaf karey, its difficult even to look at her.

And your post reminded me again of the blessings Allah has showered upon me...Alhamdulillah.

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

Wow..sooo true hun! We should be thankful for what Allah has blessed us with!!!
Great reminder!!!!

Re: Cant forget what I saw - Please read ..

you are so right, it reminds me of my university days, in our bus there used to be a woman in her 50-60s, she had these masas all over her body, she had very thin blondish hair and even her head was FULL of them, everytime I saw her I thought abot the same thing.
we have way too many things to thank allah, reminds me of surat rehman, I get goose bumps when I read/hear that sura.
